Good, but not for brushes.

I recommend this Skytone head for drummers who like a vintage sound, or also a deeper sound, with less high frequencies and more bottom. But if you use jazz brushes, look further.

A few months later; same opinion. Aquarian Texture Coated are the best. 40 years of experience, one gig a week.

good for dub

Am using this product with sonor signature heavy bubinga rig and am finding with the 12 tom that its very good for dub/d&b/jungle as it has quite a fast decay. To add additional dampening am using the muffler that came with the hld81 snare. This head is a good piece of kit :D
