Nice reso side head

Perhaps not as popular as the Ambassador, but still an excellent snare side head. Very thin, but unlikely to break unless misused. Nice option for many styles. Perhaps a little more snare response than an Ambassador.

Sound and quality go hand in hand....

If the quality isn't good, the sound isn't going to be good.

Sensitive and clear

This super-thin resonant drumhead sounds great in most situations, with a wide dynamic range and good snare response at low volumes. I use it on my orchestral snare, and most of my wood and metal drum set snares. The only negative I see is that it is less durable than thicker resonant drumheads.

Great sound

It's a very thin head, but I've had no problems with it in the studio so far. I bought this because I wanted that extra responsiveness. It's a great sounding reso head, paired with an Emperor I'm getting fat rock sounds at lower tunings. It's worth a try.

Exactly what I wanted

Yeah this ticked all the boxes for what I needed. The skin made the snare very crisp and lively giving that little extra buzz on the rolls. Just remember it is a Diplomat so its very thin, think of that when you're tightening it and carrying it around.

Why fit anything else to the snare head?

Didn't provide the extra sensitivity I thought it would

I bought this to replace my ambassador snare head, as I am now playing at lower volumes and wanted extra sensitivity. I had been amazed at the difference putting ordinary diplomats on the bottom of my mounted toms had made to the sound in terms of brightness and response, and so I wanted the same result from my snare drum.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, it didn't give e the results I was hoping for. Maybe an ambassador snare head is thin enough already, but I didn't get extra sensitivity or brightness- what I got was a fatter tone- almost the opposite of what I was expecting. I seemed t get less f a difference in the sound between quiet and loud. It was almost as if it was overloading the head, as if it couldn't quite cope. Anyhow, I wasn't unhappy with the sound of my ambassadors- it is just that I thought I would experiment.

It would possibly suit someone wanting a bigger fatter sound from their snare while playing at low volumes. I am imagining if you are playing slow ballads with an acoustic band or similar, this may suit. However, for me just wanting more sensitivity this didn't deliver.
