Industry standard!

There are many drum heads on the market. I still go back to REMO for some reason. For toms and floor toms I just love the combo of a coated Emperor on top and coated Ambassador at the bottom.

ETERNAL

The Emperor combined with a Ludwig Acrolite is the sound of dreams. All my heroes used The Emperor and it gives a certain warmth and energy that no other drumhead has given me. I've been using The Emperor for years in the studio and for concerts, it just works, simple as that.

Really great drum head for any snare drum

I used emperors on my snare drums before, been using them for playing rock music and they serve really good. I will continue to use them in the future.

get the bonham snare sound with this head

put it on a luddy 400 or 402 , or any metal snare , tune the bottom to tunebot 400 hz and the top to tune bot 300 hz and revel in the feel and sound . durable and punchy , its a great head. on 14 tom it does sound a little dull and thick , needs to be tuned up tighter than most.

One of my all-time favorites!

Sounds great on about any snare, in about any setting! It's great to get that full bodied snare sound most people search for.

Excellent warm sound

Replacing a couple of worn heads on a second hand kit with the same Remo Emperor's that were on there before. They sound great.

Great snare head

I'm currently using this on my Tama Starclassic B/B snare. It sounds great and can take a good beating. As with all drum heads you've just got to try them...

A real work-horse!

The Remo Emperor coated snare head has to be one of the most versatile drum heads on the market. It can handle all kinds of tunings and the double ply construction removes just enough overtone while still allowing some natural 'ring' and makes the head really durable.

I have been gigged the same drum head for about a year in the past, and it still sounded great.

I'd recommend this drum head for anyone looking for a durable, workhorse drum head, especially new drummers who are looking to change a stock snare drum head to get a better sound. Go for it.

Emperor coated

Always used this head for my piccolo snare and i just love the overtones, it has a great range and it's a classic. Also has a strong attack but if you don't like the overtones just use some moongel and it's all good. Very durable cause of double ply and suitable for any style.

Toms Toms and more Toms

These are the only head I use on my toms. I have Tama Starclassic maple shells and these sing with coated emperors on.

You can tune them to whatever pitch you like and they last for ages as well.

Usually I change them once a year and I play regularly too. They're not expensive but all the top players are using them. There's loads of drum heads available but these are industry standard heads for a reason.

If you don't know what head to buy, buy these, they won't see you wrong.

Great for thick & beefy snare sound

High quality replacement double-ply snare head.

Best for lower pitch fat snare sound. Go for single ply instead if you're after tight ping.

Great Drum Head

This is a great drum head which can be used for snare and toms. For toms I use this head on a 14x14 Tama star classic maple drum and it sounds huge for a small drum.

In terms of durability I would usually change it every 6 months and that is gigging regularly. They look great too!

Remo quality, so not much to think about. I have these on all my toms, and I ordered one to try as a snare head. A bit retro, I know, but I like the sound so far!

My favourite dumhead!

I used to use coated emperors for pretty much everything! But I've come to accept that they just aren't suitable for live playing. They don't have the same durability and reliability of tuning as some of the competitor's products, particularly in the Evans line. So they have been replaced as my live head of choice for most applications. Having said that though, they are still my favourite drumhead, particularly for jazz and swing. Yes, they are double ply heads and are a little bit heavier than most people like to use for jazz playing. But I love the tonal qualities of these heads, both on snare, kick and toms. They have a really warm and dark tone with lovely sustain and great attack for accents. Really beautiful drumhead. I don't use them live any more, but I won't use anything else in the studio!
