Remo 14" Emperor Clear Reviews

I replaced the factory heads of a Gretsch Catalina Jazz. I am satisfied with them, the drum has a clearer, more massive and nicer sound.

Simply the best type of head

Remo still out and out THE best

Clear Emperors are the rock industry go-to for toms live and in the studio - this is fitted to my classic OCDP acrylic 14x14 rack tom (all the drums are 'square' sizes) and it sounds amazing. Seats correctly and instantly settles into great tune, sorry but nothing else compares for sound or durability!

Standard for tom heads

I only use Emperor's on my toms. Love the full, warm and round tone of these! Quality is top notch, as always with Remo.

14" Emperor

These are my favorite heads for that distinct and full tom sound. They're not difficult to tune and record really well too.

Fantastic clear tone

I use these skins mostly for live performance on my vintage gretsch kit. they always sound fantastic. straight out the box you can hear the warm tone. great resonance.

An industry standard Head

These heads are industry standard. A great sounding head for any drum. If you're recording drums or playing live shows these heads stand up to it!

Hard Emperor

I use it on a floor tom but the truth is that I don't really like it. It's a little bit hard and inflexible. "Emperor" just not sensitive enough for me. It's perfect on a loud stage in loud music. But easy to tune and very durable.

Big sound

Remo Clear Emperors are the greatest drumheads of all time in my opinion. They really make the drums sing. The clear heads have a big and open sound that suits a wide range of music. They are highly durable and sound great on almost any kit you can think of. Fortunately when buying specific kits these come as standard heads. This is definitely a great investment if you are stuck on what heads to upgrade to. These sound great in big and small venues. In bigger venues they hardly need moongel as the bigger venues soak up the overtones meaning there's less ringing
