Metal head!

This head will improve the sound of the bass drum dramatically. Specially on heavy music styles.

Well made. I reckon it will last a long time.

A great smacking head

I was hesitant to get this one. I'm an Evans person and I was going to get the hydraulics sister version of this one. I wasn't convinced by the reviews so I decided to go with Remo PS 4. Incredible. I'm not in a metal band but I play rock and pop and loads of different genres. This skin is very versatile. Responsive even at low impact like a ballad. You can also get a nice fat "smack" playing an ACDC tune. It's sound very well on Disco too, even dance music. I love it. Exactly what I wanted. Lots of attack, not much sustain but a bit of tone. Excellent product, not just for heavy metal. Highly recommended and a good affordable price too compare to the oil filled counterpart. And Remo has a great reputation, so go for it.

Great product

Really warm and durable head. Provides much dampening as well.

Solid

Good rounded, phat sound. Durable. I don't really know how else to describe it, but you can't really expect anything less than top quality with Remo.

If you want a double ply head with a bit of dampening, this is for you.

Great, deep sounding head!

I usually use Aquarian Performance

heads on my kicks, but they were sold out, so i tried these.

They are very easy to tune in low/loose tunings, as there's a lot of fundamental note and low end slam in these heads and almost no overtone due to the damping ring. Just the way I like it...

the natural sound develops

It opens up the sound sound of the drum and allows the natural sound of it to be heard. After being tuned it sounds deep and loud and has a lot of character. (22 inch).

wet click

I play rock music, so what i am looking in a bassdrum sound is a big attack and small sustain. Tuning your bass drum realy loose and using this drumhead is the best way how to get that wet click sound. It is really durable, i am really heavy player and head is tuned really loose (which usually shortened durability), but i have this drumhead more than year, and it has not a scratch. Recommend for rock and heavy music. Great drumhead.
