Great all round Microphone

Good priced mic that can do a variety of jobs without having to mess with it.

What I expected

A friend of mine had such a microphone, and from time to time I used it. At that time, I so wanted to buy it, and with the help of this site, I received this order in a week and I use it with pleasure. I advise!

Flawless bundle

After purchasing an NTK it is safe to say this mic is worth the extra £100 for the different capsules and extra polar-patterns.

Truly the ONLY vocal mic any studio needs for this price bracket and easily performs along with mics twice/thrice the price.

Microphone of very high quality for a very low price!

I have been using this quality microphone for years and am very satisfied with it. Fantastic vocal microphone, where the softness and the very open sound are particularly striking, without sounding shrill. It is not an aggressive microphone (but what microphone fits all kind of voices). A more crunchy tone can easily be achieved by giving the preamp a bit of a beating (I usually use it in combination with a Demeter VTMP-2B preamp, or the SPL Channel One Premium with an inserted 1176 style comp). Where the microphone excels even more is with bass drum. Here it rivals the Neumann U47Fet itself, and that is saying a lot. And with the exceptionally high SPL value, this microphone is difficult to distort. It is also excellent as a room mic or as an overhead (for non-aggressive genres).

The microphone is also recommended for acoustic guitar or in front of a guitar cabinet (at about 20 cm), and for percussion

And the best part is of course that this microphone, which can hold its own against the usually very expensive usual suspects, is available for an incredibly low price.

A great sounding mic for male vocals

While I've read mixed reviews over the web, in my case the K2 works great. The vocals come out clear, well defined, somewhat thick and crunchy.

I haven't really played around with the omni & 8 figure patterns, but overall I'm pleased with the sound.

One thing to be careful about though is keeping a 'safe' distance from it. Coming too close can make it sound a bit too harsh / sibilant.

Rode k2

pros - very good sounding mic.

rugged design

cons - you really need a vocal booth as it is VERY sensitive.,

but it is a top level mic & that is not really a con.

I found it was picking up my computer's fan from over 6 M away

and this made it un-useable so i went back to my old beyer.

I moved the mic to the passage,

it was a lot better but still picked up noise

still the audio quality makes up for this. An excellent product.

Good

Upgraded from the Nt-1A and it made a huge difference. Great body and a bit forgiving when it comes to vocals (imho). Use it mainly with ART voice channel and that works like a charm.
