Amazing for many uses!

I've used these mainly in two situations: for loud field recordings and in my portable recording kit. In both situations, these mics work super well.

They seem to be great all-rounders, and I can even imagine myself using these for music instruments in my studio. Can recommend!

Best performer for the price

very good built quality, very good self noise especially on 32bit float, love the limited black edition.

Great

Price, build quality, sound, noise floor all great.

So far used for string players as overheads. With the right PA setup you can push them quite a long way before feedback.

Very nice entry level mics

Bought these for a community music studio, while they were on sale.

Very nice sounding as overheads, and for guitars.

We also have some old AKG c1000 and 460 - people tend to pick up the Rode more often. It's not a fair comparison, as the other mics are quite old... but still. Very nice.

A great pair of microphones for recording acoustic guitar!

I use these primarily to do stereo recordings of my acoustic guitars and they work wonderfully well! A lot more clarity in the transients and much more even frequency response compared to using the NT1 which is to be expected as the NT1 is still a fantastic mic for vocals but not well suited to close miking instruments due to the proximity effect and the size of the diaphragm.

Top quality condenser pair!

I've used several studios over the years and almost every one of them used these beauties. Beautiful clarity when used on acoustic instruments or as drum overheads. Very versatile condensers with many techniques to experiment with, especially when combined with another mic (even using one of these mics with a good "figure-8" patterned mic makes a beautifully rich-sounding mid-side setup) . When I could finally afford them for my own studio, I was glad they came in black - everything's better in black.

10/10 the best quality for that price - unbeatable affordable sounds! There is nothing I don't like about these.
