A great Keyboard for professionals or learners!

I like this keyboard very much as the playability and features are well thought out and work well for me. This is an update on my old: Casio GZ500 (1998) Keyboard, "now in retirement".

This keyboard has some very nice sounds and many drum kits to use as I play all my own instruments and write all my own song's for "fun". Enjoy this keyboard! Mick

This is more than its price!

I really loved this keyboard. The keys feel great somehow a semi-weighted piano feel and the sounds are really good. Piano and piano-oriented sounds are very good as are the synth sounds. Chords and recording features are wonderful additions at this price while there is no editing at all unless you load your saved midi file song to a DAW for further editing. Also, you cannot edit the sounds, the release filter (except for the knob filter effects), and save your own variations. For that price, it is a winner.

Roland quality !!!

First, I will start with the only problem with this keyboard (imo)

The volume level is a bit low, even at max volume it does not get loud enough.

Besides that, everything else is on point.

Amazing key feel, many sound options, the best at this price.

It is best used with the Roland DP-10 sustain pedal, as they complement each other perfectly!

Great value

This keyboard is without a doubt great value. It's fun to play with and the loop mix is great to mess around with.

Some things that could be improved in my opinion are the micro usb connection. Usb-c connection would have been great. The cable of the charging brick is also rather short. FInal thing, is MIDI control that is missing.

In any case, if you're looking for a beginner keyboard, just get it. It's great.

Great keyboard for value

The biggest downside to this cool keyboard is no midi control :(((

Good budget keyboard

I use this in my home studio and when I'm playing with my band. At home its great, it has speakers and a midi output and you can hook up your phone with bluetooth or cable. Oh and the keys feel pretty good for this price. In a band its good, but there's only preset sounds, you can't customise anything. I don't like that for changing volume it has buttons, I would prefer a roller. Another thing I don't like - it doesn't have a 6,3 output, only 3,5 so I always need a 6,3 to 3,5 converter on me. Overall its a good keyboard but if you have the budget go for a better one with more options.

Outperforms it’s price tag.

Excellent keyboard with a lot features in a small package.

It plays great with its semi-weighted keys and they feel more expensive then you would expect!

Incredibly portable, light, small, and it looks and sounds great.

Being all of the above it does have a couple of drawbacks that you should be aware of.

Bending and modulation is controlled with buttons and is set to staggered values and does not feel great at all times.

Both BLUETOOTH and USB MIDI functionality works fine, but make sure to supply the keyboard with a compliant usb cable in order for the midi to work. (Admittedly, I had some issues with that myself)

I am left wondering how it could ever be less than a 5/5.

You won’t find anything like this for the money elsewhere.

Best bang for buck

If you want a somewhat cheap keyboard with great sounds this is the way to go

Superb Roland keyboard, unweighted keys

The bad first - the keys are soft and there is no split function. Other than that, it's an amazing piece of equipment.

The recording function is extremely fun to play also as a somewhat experienced keyboardist. There are lots of styles, they sound very well and the samples/beats/rhythms are very well made up. Really fun to play with the many voices of the keyboard.

The speakers are somewhat small, but for a normal room (no big hall) they are absolutely enough. Also works very well as a semi portable bluetooth speaker with the AA batteries, the quality is, as expected from Roland, very good - it's definitely a Roland product.

The sounds. They are Roland. The grand piano sounds were a little subpar, but maybe because of the soft keys. Other sounds are very fine and diverse. All the "classes" of sounds feature at least two enjoyable sets. It's absolutely sufficient without any need for external sounds, although the keyboard can be used as a midi device also via Bluetooth. Bluetooth works with android (usually android Bluetooth connections are fishy, but so far no problems with the Roland bluetooth).

The build quality is superb - looks sharp, well built, I've handled it quite poorly (crashed lots of times), but it holds as new, even the keys themselves have been squished for periods of time - still going strong.

The keys - the only downside of the keyboard - they're soft. That's no weighted keys. They feel (build quality to touch) very nice (like a more expensive piano with weighted keys), but they're just so soft.

The keyboard is normal size, so the whole instrument is extremely compact (that's why I bought it, and because of the Roland brand quality).

Overall, if the unweighted keys are not an issue, an extremely valuable instrument.
