Tascam LM-8ST Line Mixer
Based on 8 reviews
I use this for an FRFR rig combined with a traditional poweramp/cab rig. I have quite a few modelers and their XLR outs with IR/cab emulation are mixed in the ST1 section of the mixer which then feeds my studio monitors. ST1 also provides a headphones out so I don't have to unplug and replug between different modelers. The 1/4" outs of my modelers are mixed in the ST2 section of the mixer which feeds the regular poweramp/cab. This mix does not contain any IR/cab emulation. With this mixer, it streamlines my workflow in the studio quite well. The mixer is fairly quiet and does not add any noise unless you go way beyond unity level. My only wish is that it accommodated unbalanced signals, but I can survive.

PROS: Versatility - loads of inputs / outputs and routing options allow you to configure this mixer for any kind of setup. Portability - 16 channel mixing desk which folds in half to fit into 19” rack for ultimate portability. Value for money - you're not going to find another mixer with this many features and such high quality at this price point. CONS: Small, tightly spaced controls - if you've got big fingers and the mixer is awkwardly positioned it can be fiddly. I have been using this mixer for over a year and I am delighted with it. This is my first serious mixing desk, I have previously owned DJ mixers and small 2 - 4 channel instrument mixers. I wanted a mixer with lots of Aux sends and returns as I have several outboard audio processors: 3 compressors, 2 filters and 1...
Yamaha MG16

I am so happy that we in a band decided to invest and by Yamaha MG 16. The ratio of price and what you get is more than favorable. This mixer has 16 channels which is more than enough to plug all the microphones for the band. We use it for drums, bass and guitar amps, two vocals and click tracks and sound loops. The mixer also has a compressor and 10 microphone inputs with preamps which makes it as a real small studio. In the band we decided to try to record a few songs using this mixer, and I can not describe how satisfied we were. I'll just tell you that we decided not to rent a studio any more :) Our band has four members, and this mixer has four aux for all channels which allowed us to have a different mix for each band member in-ear monitor and we love that so much that now we...
Behringer RX1602 V2

This product works AMAZINGLY for it's price, it sounds pretty great, and is pretty flexible, you get to connect everything to it in either mono or stereo, get individual controls over 8 different channels, and global visual feedback (not per individual channel). I do get a bit of hissing on high volumes, but I can't tell if it comes from the RX, my synths, cables or interface. Overall I'm really happy with it, and it was a great way to get all of my synths and more into the instrument jack of my interface for dirt cheap!! Highly recommended if you need to get many channels into one output without breaking the bank! :)
Soundcraft FX 16 II

I purchased this mixer to future-proof my band. I love the fact the ports are in the back so my cables aren't bending at the ends to plug into the top. Other pros are the 16 XLR channels, 4 aux outs for separate monitor mixes and separate sub outs so I can choose which channels are sent to my subs. The only negative I would give is that the faders slide far too freely, making them easy to adjust accidentally and giving them a cheap feel. I would have preferred some more resistance on them. The mixer fits very nicely into a Thon Rack Case 12U Live 15 RA too!
DAP-Audio IMIX-7.3

I use this unit in my mostly DAW-less mini home studio. The in total three masters come in very handy and are worth the slight price lift from the IMIX 7.1. No hum or noise, even with multiple masters/ins activated at the same time. The sliders could been a bit stiffer, they move with the slightest touch, I have no complaints regarding the buttons or knobs. The flexibility this product offers me is great, I use one IMIX master channels with a mixer recorder, to expand and make routing easier (e.g. effects processing). One master is used for my sampler, which can now also be easily be used as an effects unit for all the line ins. The other Master is used for my hifi system. The panel is easy to use, routing is very intuitive and flexible, with gain and volume on line ins and master...
Alesis Multimix 10 Wireless

I installed this unit in my home studio and as a replacement of my old and reliable behringher eurorack ub1222fx pro. I'd love to have more than 2 eq knobs (low and high. that's it), and definitely I could use a bi-directional BT wireless communication instead of just receiving data. I guess being in a studio is not its main purpose. Lots of 1/4 jack I/O which I was looking for. If you need more XLR options this should not be your choice. I've populated all the inputs and inserts with external compressors and other peripherals, and it works great. No heat, clean and clear sound. pros: - Easy to install, wire and use. - Perfect mix of I/O interfaces (to my needs at least). - Clear sounds and noiseless faders/knobs transitions. - Good channel density per RU. cons: - Unidirectional...
Behringer Xenyx X1222USB

I bought this mixer for my 6 piece band and we have four voices, guitar, bass, keyboards and drums so pretty much every channel is taken up, yet there are still spare inputs, should we need them, by using one of the aux returns. We move our equipment around in our own cars so we need to keep our equipment load light and so this small mixer fits in very well. There are compressors on the first four channels we use for vocals and these are great for the times when the singers get excited! We only use a little reverb on the FX, but there are many other FX patches to choose from, once we get a little more experimental. There are some people who belittle Behringer products - I think they believe that low price means low quality, I have bought a lot of Behringer equipment in the past and have...

So i am using this product for my synthesizers. I record and use the sound through my tascam model 24 mixer. I never had any problems with any noise as some youtube reviewers and i also had no other problems. all and all its ok as a simple mixer. The effects are really bad. Very bad sounding effects but i didn't expect any different for that price. On the other hand the effects can be used on electronic sounds, but that depends on someones aesthetics. Sometimes in my ear the effects give something more when i am experimenting with synthesizers but i would never use the effects on acoustic instruments, electric guitars, voicals, etc. Now in total for that price it does worth buying this mixer. Especially if you just want a reference sound, live sound so you can jam or even for home studio recordings.

We use this desk in our church building, which also hosts an open-mic youth project. We generally use 8 of the 16 input channels (for a mixture of mics and instruments), and we output via a graphic equaliser and amp to a pair of HK wall-mounted speakers. And it sounds really great! We're delighted with this desk. We currently use 2 of the 4 AUX outputs - one for a stage monitor, and one to provide sound to a creche room. In the future we hope to use a 3rd AUX output to run a induction loop for those wearing hearing aids. Most of the people using this mixer are not experts. In fact, some are absolute beginners. However, it is a very easy mixer to use, and the very logical layout of its controls helps immensely. We don't often need to use the FX, but when we do, they work great. Recently...
