Rotosound R10 Reviews
My 'go to' strings.
I have experimented with using many different companies and gauges of strings with my guitars but these are the ones I always comes back to. Favourite strings on the market. I use them frequently on sweaty warm stages and they last for many shows at a time, never breaking and sounding bright for a long time. The best part about these strings are the free extra 0.10 string you get included in the packet, this is brilliant as they're usually the first string to go! will definitely be buying these strings again.
Sound good, but fragile
The strings are nickel-coated steel, and they sound quite good and mellow when they are new.
However, the quality of the latest production is questionable. The set comes with an extra high-E string, and it was needed straight away. The high-E string installed first broke during the procedure of intonating the guitar, and it was not due to the bridge, nut or tuning machine - the string broke in the middle, somewhere around the forth fret.
Also, the strings corrode quite heavily in comparison to some other I have used.
When I used this strings previously, over a year ago, they used to be of a better quality, so it may be that I was unlucky just with the latest set.
Rotosound R10
What can I say about strings?
The Rotosound R10 are great sounding strings. They are not to bright, like steel strings.
Nickelwound strings sound warmer and fuller, that is the reason why i play Nickelwounds on all my guitars.
Besides the sound, they feel great. I don´t like coated strings, because they always feel ... let me say wrong. So i prefere to change my strings more often but have great sounding and feeling strings. Because of that, the string sets shouldn´t be too expensive.
The price of the Rotosound R10 ist ok, and there is always a second high e string, in case emergency ;-)
On a few of my guitars i play D´addario strings (my fovorite strings) but they have coloured ball ends, and that looks not right on my Les Paul because i wrap the strings aroud the Stoptail... but the Rotosound R10 are a great compromise for me.
Maybe the best strings out there!
I use a lot of different strings for many different types of electric guitars! And I really have to say that the Rotosound R10 electric guitar strings are maybe the best sounding strings out there! The sound is warm and smooth. I use them on my Suhr Standard Pro as well as on my Paul Reed Smith Santana SE model! - They sound great on both guitars! Powerful and also with a very nice brilliance in tone! Also nice: You get an additional 0.10 String for free, so in case of a broken high E-string you have one in reserve! What more can I say - I just love these strings!
Great strings.
These are great strings, no fuss, no razzed dazzle....does exactly what it says on the tin and to too it all off they come with an extra E string which is great for mid gig breakages.
Very good!
The Rotosound R10 electric guitar strings came in an ecologically friendly packaging! As I really like this: 5 stars! :-) They also sound very nice on my Ibanez Strat-like electric guitar! The strings have a great value plus you also get one extra string for free (the 0.10). So, in case only this strings tears, you have one in reserve! Nice! Also, many of our 'guitar heroes' use these strings (or have used them in the past). I'm sure you will not be able to play like Alex Hutchings or Guthrie Govan only by using the Rotosound strings - but maybe you will sound like them! Check them out!
They stay in tune with vibratos
I bought those, because my previous choice did not stay in tune very well. I use them on a guitar with a Kahler 2315 vibrato and abuse them alot, but unlike other strings these do not stretch endless at the ballend or break, but stay in tune. They sound quite well for my taste and last long enough (~2 weeks).
