Perfect for drop tunings

I have a set on a p bass since 6 months and I could not be happier. The strings sound great, they have bite even if though they are flats. They provide good tension even in drop tunings

They are pricey

They might be called "Steve Harris" but really they are a re-brand of the Rotosound Jazz 77 heavy gauge. They have classic 70s British sound when put on a p-bass.

Great Flatwounds

This package is really heavy, the strongest strength known concerning strings. Strung onto the Harris Signature Bass they are much easier to handle than I would have thought in advance. Compared to thinner ones you should take this package as those strings sound much more balanced. If you seek the Harris Sound with the metallic highs you should know that you will only have this effect in the beginning because of the monel on the strings, but as typical for flatwounds, the highs will disappear in a while. What may help is some Fast Fret before you start playing and of course afterwards. Nevertheless even if the highs are gone, those strings still produce the typical Precision Bass tone you like.
