Rupert Neve Designs RNDI Reviews
Good
It is a good di box. Do not expect it to drastically colour the sound
I like it
Mine, my own, my precious!!!
Great!
Best of the best...
Industry standard
Just what should be the industry standard in my opinion.
Its sound is clean but with a tiny amount of colour. Works for absolutely any instrument.
It's sturdy AF and could be used as weapon.
If sent a very hot output, it shows more coloration and treble roll-off/soft saturation.
It's absolutely the best DI to me.
Makes tracking so much better
Two signals now when I record guitar or bass which allows me to blend them for a fuller tone. High quality as expected. Can't fault it
WOW!
I actually sold Marleaux Tonwerk (€400 pedal) preamp to but this DI. Wasn't really happy with the Marleaux, so I got this DI and the sound is absolutely fantastic now! I am in love with this thing. My custom Maruszczyk Elwood with Delano pickups sounds amazing through this little box. Very good purchase.
The best option at this price
I love my neve di, which i bought after owning 4 sansamps. Their baked in sound was inescapable & didnt let my basses shine through.
I couldnt be more happy with my neve di, studio & live engineers are always very happy with it too. I would use words like clean, lush, warm, simple, honest, expensive, to describe its sound. I cannot find one bad thing to say, if i lost it, id buy another one.
For me to beat the neve di, i think i would probably have to spend 500 - 1000 euros. For the price im very happy
Quality to DI for
I bought this for Recording my electric guitar directly.
The sound is noticeably more articulate and rounded.
A clear improvement from going direct to my Focusrite interface.
This DI is robust and very well built as you would expect for this price. Well worth it!
The best D.I. Box...
Great di box
It works as expected.
Absolutely stunning!
I am very satisfied with the product!
Let's start with the sound as I believe this is the most important thing.
I use it in front of a cheap interface like Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd Gen.
The DI sound you get from RNDI is very clean, wide, transparent and balanced! Unlike the DI signal that you get straight from the interface ( very mono sounding, boomy low end and harsh highs ). I play guitar and bass through the RNDI straight to the Scarlett 2i4 and then into amp sims and of course it's not like you play through a real amp, however RNDI is definitely helping you getting closer to that feeling!
In my opinion if you are taking yourselves serious about recording you should definitely get one.
The build quality is great, it will last you very long time.
It feels heavy in the hand, sturdy.
I am not sure about the speak cabinet option as I do not really have a real amp, but I am planing to get one and update this review with time.
Solid
This is a really great DI. Much cleaner than my Radial. I've had this for about 4 months now and have used it for album recording. Been running keyboards, bass and guitars through it with the "thru" going to an amp. Great clear pristine sound. Solid as a rock. Highly recommended for recording. It was worth the price for sure.
Fantastic tool
I'm using this to track a 7 string archtop (DI track + miking the amp using the "trhu" out on another track) ... it's just perfect, clean and warm sound ! Very high quality product, look no further if you're after a "studio" DI, this is the one you need.
Decent DI
It sounds decent, not 300,- EUR decent, but good enough for me. Used to have an Avalon U5 which sounded way better, but for my purposes the RNDI does do well. A DI is always handy to have lying around your studio. :)
What i have to say? This is Neve. That's all the words.
I start to use this in my studio on practically all of electric instruments.
When the entire sound path consists mainly of high-quality equipment, from musical instruments, cables (by the way, i use Vovox cables) to your workstation, preamps, etc., everything falls into place and starts to sound as it should sound with maximum correct and clean sound transmission. Since using RNDI, I absolutely no longer need any high-impedance input on my card. RNDI really gives me a clean, natural sound with the right amount of bass, mids and highs on bass and electric guitars.
Once again, RNDI is a very transparent and honest di-box. If you need to transfer and convert from a high-impedance to a low-impedance signal without any distortion, as well as maintaining the quality of the source sound, then I recommend it for purchase!
I did not find the disadvantages of this di-box, it does its job perfectly.
Really Clean DI
It's a Very clean DI BOX and good for any instrument,I compared to a Countryman type85 with guitar,I like the RNDI for more natural sounding.
Serious stuff
The RNDI seriously opens a new sonic world to the instruments, especially the bottom end.
Crystal clear
Sounds great on everything I've tried it on. Would be nice if it came in a pouch/case for protection.
top one
so good and pure sound!
Great DI for bassguitar
I use this DI live for my P-Bass. Sounds amazing. Very honest sounding DI, my bass sounds exactly as the bass that it is. Also quite a small footprint (easily fits on my pedalboard) and built very sturdy.
