Paiste Mega Cup Chime 13"
Based on 2 reviews
Some cymbals on the market can have a captivating appearance, but then can be let down by either their sonic or build qualities. From the moment this cymbal was unboxed, the Paiste 13'' Mega Cup Chime was a delight to behold, and then sounded unlike most effects cymbals I had previously used, with great clarity over the thudding of two bass drums. The cymbal is a great alternative/accompaniment to the bell of a ride or a large crash, as it has a nice warm 'ping' to it. Overall a great purchase, and well priced for a very high quality cymbal. Pro's + High quality + Great clarity, and very bright + Will sound great live and in recording Con's - Not every drummer wants or needs FX cymbals
Paiste 09" PSTX Pure Bell
Based on 2 reviews
This cymbal really does leave people curious; it has a very long sustain and a pure tone compared to most standard drum kit bells due to its totally different Aluminium composition. If it is struck right, its thickness helps it to cut through above the other cymbals, which is impressive for the small diameter. I use it in metal drumming for fast ride patterns or fills between the bell and toms which sound very interesting to the audience from what I've been told. Great addition to the Paiste range and most of all, it doesn't break the bank for a drummer on a budget.
Paiste 12" Rude Shred Bell

Having been playing a many number of years (25 now!) i always gravitated towards smaller but heavier cymbals generally, for feel and sound but also transport as i don't drive...after 10 years of playing pro i went into semi-retirement and started experimenting with different sizes and sounds, i found the Paiste PST X DJ range of interest but wasn't keen on the ride (i now use it as a crash) so looked around and discovered this, great as a mini ride, cuts nicely, my gigging set up now has no cymbals bigger than 12" with 8" or 10" hats...(i use 14" crashes in my studio) but again use one of these as a ride...i love it.
Zildjian 10" FX Spiral Stacker
Based on 1 reviews
You don't need this, but it's visually attractive and you can combine it in all sorts of ways. I love sound gadgets, so I got this. With every cymbal type this is stacked with, you'll get another sound, but it will always be trashy or sizzling. I found it especially interesting with my 16" Istanbul China. It doesn't pop up because of the China shape it lies on, and I had the choice between a sustained tone or a short burst. That is achieved by playing on the edge of the China, or hitting the spiral stacker lying on top directly. Which also gives you clearly different sounds as well. And I'm not even finished experimenting. On it's own, hanging down, it's about using your imagination how to blend this into your play. (and where to place it in your kit) Because when used solo,...
Meinl 10" Generation X Drumbal
Based on 1 reviews
I use Meinl 10" Drumbal with my custom copper piccolo snare and it produces kick ass electronic sound. I played quite a bit of gigs with the snare and people in the audience can not really tell the difference between electronic snare and mine with drumbal. However, the sound is dependent on the snare. I tried to use it with cheap wooden snare from BASIX drumkit and it sounds really-really bad. If you'd like a kick-ass electronic sound, first have to get the snare with a lot of buzz (from strings) and tone (from body). Copper (and metallic overall) snares fit here very well. Also, drumheads should not be very thick.
Paiste 2002 Cup Chime 8"
Based on 1 reviews
This is a rare find! I know of no other supplier in Europe that sells these and only one in USA that is not allowed to export. They seem surprisingly more expensive than the Accent cymbals, made from the same alloy, but of course having their own unique sound. There is mention of these being available in sets in some of the descriptions, but only 3 sizes are available here. Are they no longer in production? Is this a last chance to purchase old stock? I'm delighted to have this one. I think you can hear one on "A Day in the House" by Jeff Beck.
Paiste 2002 06" Accent Cymbal
Based on 10 reviews
PAISTE 2002 06" ACCENT CYMBAL rate now: This is currently the cheapest cymbal I own ! I am astounded at the quality of manufacture, very fine lathing, lacquered? buffing compound? finish. The sound is somewhere between a normal splash and a bell, if placed on a small felt mount then it is closer to a splash sound and can be hit hard. If placed on the Paiste Cup Chime Holder, then the rubberised mounts make it sound much more bell like, but not quite as extreme as a real cup chime. I never imagined I would be playing it so often !
Zildjian ZXT 08" Trashformer
Based on 4 reviews
One word: trashy! It's a great sounding cymbal with just the right amount of trash to it. It sounds great as a short-decay splash and also can be easily used on a stack with other cymbals. The only problem I have with it, is that it is very thin (which I understand why) and it broke after a while of extensive use. But since it is a 'trash' cymbal if it's slightly cracked it doesn't effect the sound too much and can even add to the trashy sound. Overall, if that's the sound you're going for, then by all means buy it as it is a well made, good sounding effects cymbal!
Meinl 14" Backbeat Pro Tambourine
Based on 1 reviews
I use this on my main 14" snare drum whenever I want to remove overtones from the snare and also add a very subtle tambourine backbeat sound when recording. The build of the product is excellent and its doesn't weigh much, so taking it with your snare in its case isn't an issue. But the only problem you might have, is if you use hoops that are turned inward to the drum, this may cause the backbeat pro to start sliding off your drum as it won't sit snug between the rim of the drum, so make sure you tape it down. On my Sonor SQ1, this isn't a problem, but its an issue on Mapex snare drums.
