This is Clasic mic. Clean, smooth and clear sound. Deeply recomend.

Excellent Microphone

Unlike the SM58 this mic has an extended high and low end as well as a super-cardiod pattern, which means that it is a little harder to control. However, with the right vocalist it sounds fantastic, the added high-end in particular gives a really breathy character to it, which can also be useful on instruments if you're feeling creative. As always the build quality is what you'd expect from Shure - simple, solid and reliable.

Just standart for vocal. Believe me.

Re Shure Beta 58A

I play in a covers band doing rock, funk, punk anthems. We use a full pa with monitoring for every gig and there are 4 vocals. We are loud on stage and we always struggled to

get the vocals loud enough without feedback even with an engineer / monitor graphic etc. We have used standard SM58's for years. The lead vocalists mic failed recently and he asked for an SM58A Beta instead. It was about an extra £30 so I went along with it. The difference was amazing and we immediately replaced all the vocal mics with the 58A's and all our vocal monitoring problems are over. The mics sound great and do not pick up the monitor sound because of the super cardiod sensitivity map. I thoroughly recommend these mics to all - but beware of counterfit ones that you can find on line. They look the same but they sound terrible and the handling noise is awful. Cheers Rich Meen

Great Microphone ..

This is industry standard mic for a reason ..a step up from the older version ( old SM58) great quality improvements ... To get better than this ... You really need to step up a lot in price .. But if budget is a priority with good quality in mind this is the mic for you .. I would highly recommend it ...

Quality mic.

I have been a professional singer/saxophonist for many years working in a variety of settings - function bands, solo, recording and hotel work.

The Sure Beta 58A is simply a great microphone. It has great clarity and focus requiring a minimum of EQ adjustments on the mixing desk.

The design is more robust than the standard Sure 58. I've dropped one in the past and it's survived unscathed. To me, it is louder mic than the standard Sure 58 and generally a step up in quality.

It' a great mic for a great price. Highly recommended!

The legendary microphone. one of the best in its price range. The soft top. suitable for everybody vocalists. good sound output.

Shock head makes it possible to put it anywhere you want and absolutely not afraid of him, as well as use in the field. The steel mesh grille ensure the safety of the capsule microphone even when accidentally dropped. The microphone works great both outdoors as well as indoors. It is ideal for use on a wide variety of activities, presentations, show concerts!!!

The range of transmission frequencies is suitable not only for voice

It perfectly transmits acoustic guitar and harmonica.

The frequency range of 50 Hz - 16 kHz. That is, the entire spectrum of tone of voice.

The universal thing, I advise! Impeccable design, construction and style! low levels of sound distortion!

Powerful dependable mic

I have the sm58 and it works like a dream. I'd heard this model was better so Invested in one. Is it better? I don't know. It's just as good but different. Every singer has a unique relationship with their mic. It takes time to really get to know a mic and to craft your performance on that mic. It's a personal thing. This mic certainly has more power but I do feel as if I'm still getting to know it. But the more I do, the more I feel the power and presence of it - it's a great piece of machinery.

Hardly any reverb required, it sounds fabulous straight away. If the standard 58 is a rolls royce then this is a ferarri. Only the singer can decide for themselves which is better (and I know a few who prefer the standard 58 over this one) but I have started to use the Beta for church events where the quality oozes, especially if its concrete and glass but even when the church has the acoustics of a portacabin - which is far more valuable. I use the standard 58 for band work - It's just great - solid power, easy to eq and total reliability.

Both mic's work great for me in very different settings. Hope this helps.

An improvement over SM58

While Shure SM58 remains a true work horse, the Beta is a clear improvement. It feels very solid as Shure mics should and at the same time captures a bit more detail and clarity.

Before buying this one, I was considering some other mics as soon as competition on dynamic mic market is pretty tough. There certainly are very good AKGs, EVs, Sehn's, Rode's and Audix'es around but Shure is always a safe bet as long as I know it.

Great vocal mic.

Slightly different frequency to the beta 58 (one of my friends has one) and fairly different sound to the sm 58 (noticably different, even in noisy venues).

Great sound for vocals, easily EQ'able. Seems to sit in the mix quite nicely.

Fairly good quality microphone, has a good even response whether singing directly into it or slightly off axis.

It seems not to feedback as easily as other mics, even when at similiar volume/ gain/ compression levels.

It's a good industry standard vocal mic.

I haven't had any trouble with it since I bought it, plug it in and it works.

Overall, very happy with it and I'd recommend it.

Shure Beta 58 A

I've been using the Shure Beta 58 A mic to record vocals and at live performances for a few years now and it still looks new and sounds great. It is extremely sturdy and durable, very good feedback rejection, sound is detailed and accurate. Really good mic for live vocals. Highly recommended.

The acoustic players SM58

This mic has the same great qualities as the SM58 but perhaps suits the acoustic stage a little better. Great sound, excellent feedback rejection and built like a tank. I use this mic for acoustic folk sets where it gives a slightly more intimate vocal sound than an SM58. All in all an excellent product.

Shure Beta 58 A

Great all round vocal mic. I have bought a number of these and swear by them. More responsive than a straight 58 and very robust. Handles the rigors of touring well. I also own a Beta 87A which, I think sounds slightly better, but that requires phantom power which isn't always available on smaller gigs hence the 58. There's a reason Shure is pretty much industry standard for live sound!

My best friend!!

I spent weeks debating with myself as to buy the shure beta 58a or the seinheisser e925? I eventually went with the Shure and I am happy I did, such a clear prestine sound and the durability is just top class when it comes to these microphones

Microphone for live

I have a few of this Beta's and they have a very good sound.

I feel that the sound is full, rich and detaild.

The Microphone is very well build and it came with a cover bag that is very usefull.

Just that little but better than the SM58

Bought as a present for my wife who just loves that extra little presence peak around 2.2kHz for the slightly better tone and clarity it gives her voice. And it's a Shure so it should last forever no matter what mistreatment it might get. I made the mistake of letting someone else use it and being told that it was hers and nobody else could even look at it. Real Spinal Tap moment.

Very pleased

This microphone stands extremely well at all my live situations.

Great sound, dynamics and not so many feedback.

Drop it accidentally couple of times and still working without any issue.

Excellent vocal mic

One of the true best mic's I have ever tested. A must have for the dedicated vocalist! Good for studio and good for live gigs, and I have used it outdoors with success too.

Industrys best workhorse

If you´re going to settle with just one type of microphone, the Beta58 must be the one. With a bit of tweaking, this mic does the job on virtually anything from vocals to guitars. Even used it on a kick drum once..!

Maybe not the best sounding microphone all the time, but it actually sounds really nice in most configurations, especially considering the price..!
