Outstanding microphone for professional purposes
I bought the Shure KSM44A as a vocal mic for my studio, but I ended up using it for instruments too. I'm not an engineer, so I won't review this microphone with stats and numbers. I work with my ears so I can only speak about how I perceive the sound in combination with vocals and instruments.
The music I record is acoustic, folk, indie, classical.
Compared to other microphones I have used, I was impressed by its sensitivity. It catches every detail which is a much desired feature for my purposes. I would describe the sound as round, warm and clear.
So far, the microphone did an amazing job on vocals, guitar, trumpet, trombone, ukulele, harmonica and percussion.
The mic looks great and feels very solid. The shock mount is extremely well built and I just love the case.
Great mic!
I used to work with KSM32, and I really liked how my voice and acoustic guitar sounded with that mic. So I decided to try the KSM44A... and let me tell you - it didn't let me down! I really like it!
Great sound, and high build quality!
Great mic!
