This mic is the most amazing piece of gear i have bought in a while. I bought it right before doing sound on a festival and used it extensively on a lot of different genres on lead vocals. During the festival i tried it on pop, rock, funk, folk and death metal vocals on both male and female vocals and in every single instance it seemed to be the perfect mic for the job! For the most time i used it on one of my Sennheiser G3 500 wireless transmitters, but sometimes with a cable through my Midas pro2 with a DL251 stagerack. The sonic difference wasn't HUGE, but i did prefer the sound of the mic through the Midas preamps over the wireless. I have even used it through an old Mackie CFX-board and it still shines through as a superb vocal mic considering the slightly shabby preamps. I always...
AKG C7

I wanted to find a good solid mic a little bit above my workhorse SM58. The AKG C7 was a clear upgrade and what a pleasant discovery this was! The sound quality is really refined and well-rounded. The clarity is really superb and captures a full range from highs to lows. The lows are particularly vivid. I have used it for vocals as well as for recording strings and winds. I am still discovering this magnificent beast and I am sure it will continue to surprise me more. The built quality is solid and I am sure it will keep going for several years to come. If you are looking for something more detailed and refined I would definitely consider this mic. I am going to add a few more of these to my studio.

I use this mic a lot in very different halls and churches for leading worship. I like the pure sound that you can rely on- the problem is never in this mic, rather in sound engineer or some other weak place in chain. I love the mellow yet pure sound of it. Also feedback from stage monitors is minimal. And the hevy metallic feeling when you hold it in your hands shows some high standard of this Neumann. You may not like the price but you know- it's an investment worth it! It's all about your perspectives! :)
Shure KSM 9 HS

i recently bought neumann kms105 shure ksm8 and shure ksm 9 hs.. i am very satisfied from all as a better sound choice i choose neumann kms105 but for very very hard and dificult situations i mean bad places bad speaker place very easy to get feedback from mics i choose the ksm 9 hs on hypercardioid Pros Very good high end quality sound The best anti feedback microphone.. i got no feedback at all even in the worst set up places.. I very often have live events in small bars which has many many people in there.. and the speakers are in very very bad place with any other microphone i would have feedback.. i got many beta 58s sm 58s neumann kms 105 and 104... all these would have a lot feedback in these places.. the ksm9 hs in hypercardioid pattern its very very hard get feedback... i fully...
Sennheiser E 865 S

I'm ordered three mics, I'm write a small comparing: - E 865 S - Really much detail, good dynamic, nice EQ resp - RODE M2 - Good detail, less dynamic - Senheiser e945 - Nice details, amazing eq resp, great dynamic - Beta 58 - Less details than the e945 on high freq, boomy at low (I'm using this about 8years) I know that these mics are mixed dynamic and condenser, so it's a little interesting feedback, but after I did a test recording with my voice, my EXACTLY best of these four, is the Senheiser E945. All of the michrophones more than enough rough and perfectly assembled. The feedback was also not a problem. The E945 has the whole advantages from the 3 others.

Trough all those years I have never found better mic. For live performance it is best thing ever. Tryed to record with it. The sound I can get out of this mic is outstanding. It is my favourite mic in every live performance. The sound is so clear so you can hear every single detail in every note every move. Its sparkle clear. There is nothing more about what to say. The noise you put in this mic is exact the same noise you get trough amp. In my oppinion it is the best mic in universe to use in live performance.

This is a high-quality vocal mic with an advanced design. I didn't buy this as a vocal mic; a master engineer recommended it to me for large school bands and choirs, large percussion sets or anywhere you need to cover an area with 1 or 2 pairs of mics. The supercardioid characteristic means low feedback, and the medium-sized diaphragm condenser design balances detail with richness. As a condenser this mic requires phantom power. Though I bought it for choirs, it's designed as a handheld vocals mic so I started using it for this, and it's excellent, capable of much better gain-before feedback than common vocal dynamic mics, with higher detail and a natural sound free from harshness and sibilance. But it takes some getting used to. It has a large (+6dB) boost at about 5kHz but IMO this...
Shure Beta 87C

Being a singer myself I have always searched and done some much research into mics and finding the best one. I have to say with the Shure Beta 87c I think I found It, Surprisingly light and crisp sounding it makes you sound like a true pro. I was concerned with feedback being a condenser microphone but haven't heard it squeal once, just me ha! ;) I would highly recommend this mic if you are a true vocalist and want that beautiful pro sound. Be warned however if your playing pubs with small stages which most of us are, it will pick up the drums and on stage nose very easily and if you use IEM that can be a problem. But if you are doing an acoustic gig or sitting at a piano singing then this is 100% the microphone you need.
Neumann KMS 104 Plus

One of the best mics out there..what more can I say!! Very good stage condenser mic for stage...allows those clear quiet voclas to come trough nice and clearly that were previously lost on my SM58...and then pow with the loud and harder voclas. Good for soft singers. I have a friend who projects and has a very strong powerful voice and actually she thinks this mic is too powerful for her, as she does not need the help the mic gives, but I love it. It also impresses sound engineers when you say "can I use my own mic" and bring this out! Very pro mic and well worth the high price tag as I hope to use it for life! I have never gone back to my SM58!
Audio-Technica ATM 710

I bought this as an alternative to an SM58 vocal mic. The obvious difference is that the 710 requires phantom power, which is kind of annoying when it comes to doing busking with my street cube. But there's actually a really handy portable, rechargeable phantom power bank which I use. But with the condenser status against the SM58 dynamic, the increased sensitivity of the mic is the payoff, which suits I would say, more 'intimate' vocal styles. It's also just a bit different as everyone has an SM58. I've yet to use it to record an amp or instruments, but will be doing so.
