Snark ST-8 Tuner Reviews
Robust, Clear and Reliable - all for ~â¬12 - Excellent
I had a cheaper clip tuner and it was really hard to get the string exactly in tune and it was terrible if you wanted to tune down or go off concert pitch. This tuner is really clear display and is not too sensitive, so easy to find perfect note. I haven't used metronome option, but happy just as a tuner.
Decent clip tuner for the price. It can be attached in probably any direction you like, and the screen is bright.
Perfect tuner. I highly recommend it.
Accurate
It works as it should. Easy to use, nice design and accurate. That is what I needed. So, very satisfied. Use it for both bass and guitar.
quick and accurate tuner
A fast and accurate tuner with a display that is easy to read. I bought two of them and they are always attached to the instruments. The swivel arm is handy but I prefer a shorter and fixed arm personally.
Because of the bright display, the battery does not last very long but batteries are cheap. This is not a problem and the bright display is still easy to read when you are on stage.
Functional and easy to use
I use the tuner for both my electric and semi-acoustic guitar, haven't used the metronome function yet. It is small, versatile and precise device that is very easy to use thanks to the graphic display. I've been using for almost a year (no batteries changed so far) and had no problems. Would definitely recommend.
Snarky puppy
Works like a tuner should: accurate, fast and discreet. The round, vintage design is nice as it hides better amongst the curves of my guitars.
i have also tried other clip tuners and this is by far the best !
accurate , fast and easy to read screen
The metronome function seems a bit useless to me as its only a blinking icon without any sound but all in all its a great little tuner.
Excelent tunner
I was looking for a small clip-on tuner for mostly home use (recording and practicing guitar). I had previously owned some no-brands cheap tuners (which cost me around 3-5 euros), and they did the job really well, and even worked well for gigging.
However, I was tempted to spend a little extra and try a more expensive one, to see if there were any difference. And with this unit, I am very happy with the extra-euros paid.
First, the construction is quite robust. It has a nice rubber cover, which makes it easy to handle and probably more road-friendly.
Second, and more importantly, the tuner itself is quite fast and precise. I was used for the other tuner bounce a bit, before settling on the note, but this one reaches the final state quite fast and accurate. (At least to my ears, and also to the recording software).
The built-in metronome is just a small heart-beat image without noise (click). I am not using this feature that much, but I believe it may become handy. What is interesting, is that you can "click" on one button of the tuner, and will set the bpm while also displaying it.
A third good point is that the screen is quite clear, even with high environmental light.
Regarding the battery, I can not comment yet, since I got it recently, but I don't think is going to be a good problem.
While cheaper tuner will do also the job, I'll totally recommend if you can spend a few extra bucks for this one.
Oh, Snark... where have you been all of my life?

Where my ukulele goes, my Snark goes... even if I have pedal board at my disposal.
Simple. Fast. Does the job.
As said in the title, it's a really good tuner and I haven't found any cons personally so far. Some people might want a bit brighter display but for me it's perfect.
A Sturdy Tuner for Any Instrument
I have been using an older model of Snark, which is visually similar to this one, for 6 years. It is still working but the chassis of that tuner has been damaged due to traveling in my backpack, thus; I have purchased another SNARK. This tuner is precise with an improved display and it is softer on the eye. The colors and movement patterns were kind of dazzling but ST-8 seems to work smoother and the display is fairly bright with a nice definition to it.
The tuning accuracy is precise, and the Hz ratio is configurable. It is a chromatic tuner so you can tune any instruments. I highly recommend this tuner due to its durability and ease of use.
Perfect
Lightweight, easy to turn on/off. Easy to setup and face it my way. The clip is strong and it works just great. I tested it against my cable tuner and it was right on every time. Highly recommended
Super, même en extérieur
Je suis particulièrement content de cet accordeur que j'utilise pour jouer de la guitare en me promenant. Il est précis, facile à utiliser et suffisamment lumineux pour rester lisible à la lumière du jour
Great and reliable tuner
I have always used Snark electronic tuners, so wanted to upgrade to the latest one. I like it a lot and the tuning is spot on - for guitar, mandolin and cello. The only thing I would improve if I could is the screen brightness. In a well lit room it's not always easy to see, but the rest of the time I have no complaints.
I use this on a banjo, electric guitar and a plastic uke. It's great, nice and clear display, very stable in it's measurement of the pitch - as in, it doesn't jump around like some cheaper ones I've used before
Works well
Looks nice, feels good and is very cheap. Just buy it ;) has an option of tapping in the tempo, adjusting the pitch. What more You want for this money ?
Great tuner
I always use a Snark tuner. It's accurate. Be careful and use them gently because rubber on clip holder can fall off.
The best.
You have a different tuner? Your loss!
This one works better than the first series of clips tuners. I'm having no more problems with tuning, love it!
Be careful with mahogany guitars though.
