Super-top!

Good product

Controller is really enjoyable to use. The pots feel good, the build is good. The software integrates very well with Cubase. I'm moving to bitwig and I've heard it also works with that. Excellent.

Great product for the audio engineers that like tactile feedback when mixing!

I love this product. It allows me to mix with emotion, using my ears instead of my eyes!

Easy and quick

All your basic needs at once. Eq, compression, noise gate. Build like a tank, it will last forever... but hey there is a new one...

I love it now

It’s taken me some time to get used to this unit. I had some issues getting it set up and working correctly software wise. However the support people at softube were spot on and got me going properly in the end.

Fort thing to do after getting it working is to make yourself a daw template with this inserted in all you channels. I just have a very simple template with 1 mono, 1 stereo channel and I copy them as I need.

Then… you’re really working like your on a big format console. Reaching for high pass, introducing a bit of compression and eq tweaking is all at your finger tips. Plus much more. It really sounds good too. It adds a fat punch to your mixes with little effort. Dare

I say warmth? That overused term… I dare… cos it does!

Overall I just love this way of working. I really get that softube have not tried to make a general daw controller, they’ve made a controller for a virtual console inside your Daw, and therefore it works perfectly.

So seriously considering adding the fader unit as well now.

Een van de beste manieren om je daw te besturen

Softube zijn sowieso ongeveer de beste van klank, met deze en de Faber erbij is het feest volledig. Niet analog, maar het begint er toch terug wat op te lijken. Snel, minder trackball,...

Unbelievable Piece Of Analogue as a Hardware Controller.

Really love this product it has made my mixing 10x faster and the pots and touch buttons are lovely. Real good construction. and the SSL is beautiful.

Dream to mix on

I received this device 24 hours ago and after setting up I was remixing a track I had previously released. Just using console 1 and 2 other plugins for reverb and delay I was able to fully remix the track ready for mastering within a couple of hours. This is the most intuitive system I have used for mixing that is not actually a real SSL console. I can't recommend this highly enough.

excellent

I use it everyday. Its just amazing. Has improved my workflow immensely. I work in games and using the console on all of the tracks just makes mixing and layering sounds super fast. The SSL 4000E emulation sounds very good , as well as all the other ones sound top notch ! I highly recommend this product

Best piece for the studio I've bought this year

I was looking at the SSL uc1 and I'm glad I got this unit. The software is outstanding and the hardware makes the workflow incredibly fast. I can get a mix 90% there with only the console 1 software at super quick speeds. Input gainstaging, transient designing, eq, compression, drive (very powerful) and balancing in 1 controller is amazing.

Making mixing tactile and fun

Softube Console 1 made the process of mixing very fun and exciting, you build muscle memory with it and feel more physically connected to the music if that makes sense. I'm very happy with this purchase when it comes to the meat and potatoes of the mix.

Pros:

- Compact form factor.

- Console 1 software works pretty smooth, always there when you need it and non-intrusive when you don't need it.

- Low CPU load.

Cons:

- Integration with UAD console is a disaster, don't fall in that marketing trap.

- Some UAD plugins loaded into console seem to use more DSP as opposed to running outside of console.

- It's easy to overprocess tracks by having console loaded into your whole session.

Wonderfull mixing controller

Can't imagine my workflow without it now. Just put it on every channel and mix away! Also great for tracking, the latency is unnoticeable. If only it could control the ProTools channel's volume and panning (as it does in Reaper), it would be all i would need.

Nice Build and DAW Integration.

I have been producing and mixing everything ITB with my good old mouse and keyboard for a long time. It is handy but it is limited to one action at a time.

With Console1, it enables me to to free myself from the mouse&keyboard combos and happily mix, with both hands, doing multiple actions and most importantly, no more choose this or that EQs, Comps scenearios. Just add in the stems, and console1. And work right away! The build quality is good, it is all metal chassis and look really solid and knob does not give me that plastic feel. It gives a little bit resistance when twisted and it is really cool for me.

Not even a single second wasted on tweaking knobs with mouse! It brings me joy that I never ever had with mouse and keybaord.

Not to mention the ssl4000 sound is really good with that magic saturation knob!

Versatile studio essential!

I'd recommend everyone to have a Console 1. The link between, head, hand and speaker is done with the Console 1.

Pros:

Great plugins, great product

Love the hands on approach

I use this with Presonus Studio One, and being able to control the Shape, EQ, Compression, and other features from just turning knobs (instead of mouse and keys) makes a big difference to your mixing workflow (so much faster when you get to grips with it)

The sound quality of the default plug-ins is great too; I personally love using this console on drums and bassline elements (driving it hard without typical digital distortion)

I don't like mixing without it now!

so much nicer then with a mouse!

I truly believe i now use my ears more to mix then before. With your mouse you always tend to mix with your eyes. it was a bit of a hassle to install it al but now that it's up and running it works very smooth!

pro studio gear

this adds a lot of fun to the mixing process. The sound is amazing and working with it is a pleasure.

I mix and master music at CNXL STUDIO, and this definitely has increased the speed and the quality of my work.

Great with little software issues

Installation on mac is a bit strange. You get offered drivers and software which seem not properly developed yet. on contact with support you get help. Which is : install the manual drivers. .. even after weeks this has not been fixed. a pity for the generally good product
