Very great price for quality.

Great price for what your get in return. Comes with nice gigbag.

Evertune works great but can take some time setting up and adjusting when changing string type or tuning.

Great visual, easy to play, minor design flaws

I have only owned this specific model for a few days to try out, but I also have had a Solar E 2.6 for a few years.

This V1.6 with Evertune plays great, as I have come to expect from Solar (and Washburn Solar) guitars. The neck looks a bit wide but play very nicely.

It comes with Solar Duncan pick ups, which are good and have a nice split function, although I will still replace them as personally I prefer active pick ups. Having done an A/B comparison between the Solar E and a B.C. Rich with EMG 81/85s, I can say that the sound difference is minimal, but the feel while playing is more of a reason to switch.

Despite stories of fretboard cracks with Solar guitars, I haven't found any issues so far. The paint is applied flawlessly. The shape is a great metal-style V, with the bevel which makes it more comfortable to play the right arm on the body. The knobs turn nicely (although with the old Solar E I've had to refasten the volume knob every once in a while. I hope it will stay fastened with the V for longer) and the split by pulling the tone knob is neither too difficult nor too easy. When playing palm mutes, the knobs are not in the way.

The biggest flaw with this guitar (and Solar Vs in general) is the position of the output jack. While standing, it is a bit annoying because you keep touching it with your body. Sitting down, this is a nice position though. The pick up selector switch is easily reachable but also not in the way of playing.

All in all after just a few days of testing it is a great guitar that could use minor improvements.
