I don't even know where to start with this review. For about 2 years I've been using a 30 meter snake to get my mics to my preamps from my drumroom and I've always noticed how limiting that is. For one, not the best quality and 30m is asking for trouble with losing a bit of treble. That and having all your inputs on one place in your drumroom can get messy and outright annoying. With the cat6 system, it's very much simplified my workflow, cleaned up my floors and has allowed me do ditch 5+ meter cables dangling all over my room like a pit of snakes! If you're looking to wire up your studio as cheaply and effectively as possible, this is it!

I was looking for a simple way to run auxiliary XLR cables between control room and live room so instead of getting a stage box for a fixed solution I decided to explore the option of using Cat 5 cable to run multiple signals. I purchased both the female and male XLR versions of the Ssnake Cable splitter as it was by far cheaper than other well known brands and I'm please to report the build quality and usability is great. I just run the Cat 5 as a permanent install terminated with RJ45 connectors and just connect these in the appropriate rooms and you have 4 XLR's available to you. What's more you are not limited to which gender you have per room, simply unplug and swap ends.

On delivery I had an intermittent issue with one of the ways, it turned out to be a join that wasn't soldered 100% This wasn't an issue as I had planned to drop it to 3ways using the 4th way as a new ground, meaning it can be used with both shielded and un-shielded Ethernet cable. Also two ends will be made into 5pin. Other than that the product has been rock solid during the event it's currently on. For the price it's a 3rd of the cost of other brands although obviously cheaper materials have been used.
