Source Audio One Series Nemesis Delay Reviews
A lot of delays.
Very well built effect with all existing delays.
This is a perfect tool to have all existing delays at end. Digital models are very realistic and you can't tell them from analogue ones.
It's possible to download infinite patches via Neuro App. All parameters are extensivelly modifiable.
Timeline killer
The timeline was the one to beat for years. This one blows it out of the water in every single aspect. Connecting to the neuro editor is a must to use all features.
Features set this one apart from others
Got this delay to provide myself with more delay options during rehearsal or live set. It is very easy to switch through presets between songs holding the "tap" switch (can be tricky to do that quickly during a song, but I usually do not need my sounds to be that complex). 4 presets are enough so far, I have not got deeper into the app, but it is great to have that pool of options. Sound wise, the delays I use cut through nicely when playing with band and I keep the "mix" on fairly low setting (around 10 o'clock is about OK). I recommend the pedal to anybody looking for a compact high-end delay.
Great price. I compare it with Eventide H9 and SA Nemesis win for me. Lot of great sounding delays, tons of posibilities to edit via app. Lof of midi parameters you can change through my switching system.
great sound, nice features
I love this pedal, it sounds great, it's solid and reliable.
It's both super modern and "analogue warm".
The only thing I don't like is that you have these very small buttons to switch presets. For the rest, totally love it for both studio and live use.
Midi clock works fine, and also modulation is very good (especially with 2 amps in stereo).
I haven't tried the remote function with my smartphone yet, but I surely will, why not?
My main delay
I love this delay. It works great. Lot's of functionality on a small footprint. I switch between presets using midi. This makes operating the device easy.
The different delay-engines are very, very good. And with the Neuro-app both for Android and iPhone you can tweak the sound to whatever you want. I most of all like the Sourceaudio take on the Binson Echorech and their Tape delay, but it delivers all the delays you could ever need.
Really great pedal and for a very reasonable price also if you compare it to the competition.
Amazing sound
This delay has everything that you need and more. The quality is impressive and the possibilities are endless. I will spend my lifetime dig it :)
Digital sceptical turned believer. Great for Bass
The title says it all. I have been converted! I love this product. If you're looking for far out to mellow delay based effects then this is the pedal for you! I've spent the last 24 hours just tweaking knobs! What a sound! Even for bass guitar!!
Killer "Super Delay"
I love delays, I love delays that offer plenty of tones and tweakability, but are easy to use. I love delays that have character. I found all of this in Nemesis.
I've been using TC Nova Repeater prior to this, since it was easy to use and change stuff on fly, had a nice modulation control and several usable delay engines. It worked great live, but I wanted a change, I missed oscillation and wanted to get rid of the 12V power need to get the best of it.
Enter Nemesis. Its 12 default delay engines are fantastic and already useful a lot. The preset option is exactly what I need to fine tune my favorite tones and easily use them live (especially if I add an external switch). Not only that, but Neuro app (and desktop Neuro) offer extra options, new engines and user shared presets. You can even use it as a bit crusher or a modulation pedal. Awesome! And I didn't even get into the MIDI capabilities, 128 presets that it can open up and stereo delay option..
You'd be hard pressed to find a better "Super Delay" that offers the same amount of options, tones, engines and tweakability it this form factor and this price point. I know I couldn't, not even at higher price point.
Superb
one of the most functional pedals I ever used. Midi sync and variety of options accessible through the app is insane.
Best of the best!
Let me introduce myself: I am a delay freak.
During the years, both for live and studio applications, I?ve been trying all sorts of delay pedals, racks, multieffects and emulations as from the mid 80?s. From the analog to digital, from the standard to the obscure, for the boutique to the popular units.
At present, I do own 14 delay pedals, 7 dedicated delay rack units, 9 high range multieffects with delay and many digital emulations, including plug-ins.
I did not expect something that surprises me, at any price range. This little pedal did. It would cover ANY possible delay need you may have, the level of external control is insane, it looks good, it sound sick and is built like a tank. Simply fantastic.
The only (cool!) spec that disappointed me was its Android control. Even when the idea is fantastic and well executed, the touch/feel was somehow awkward and complicated to me. But you can just use the pedal from hardware with no worries, so even that is a minor con (aside from being extremely subjective as a perception).
This delay is a master of all trades and compares at par or surpasses by far all other options in the market, including some much more expensive.
Highly recommended from my side
Creativity explored
Having gone through different delay pedals, I should say that Nemesis is definitely a game changer. Packed with tons of features (tap tempo, midi, expression control etc) and a number of delay algorithms and preset selection, this pedal can cover a lot of ground.
Engines are good out of the box, but the pedal offers so much in terms of tweaking that one can easily dial great tones. Setting up the Neuro app was quite easy and allowed me to quickly access additional algorithms (I particularly liked the newly released Echorec inspired engine). This is really a creativity tool which allows one to get lost for hours on an ambient discovery journey.
Pedal controls are very intuitive so one can get lots of customization without resorting to the app. I did find the modulation a bit on the excessive side out of the box but, as already said, very easy to tone things down as needed to match personal preferences. Was a bit skeptical before buying due to the pedal having no dry through (Source Audio went for a full digital path), however I didn't notice any impact to my signal (A/D/A converters are really good).
Overall, really impressed with the pedal, for the value it brings to the table at a really competitive price. Definitely a keeper.
Feature-packed; State-of-the-art
I bought this delay to replace a TC Electronic Alter Ego x4. The Alter Ego sounded great, but it lacked a 'Mix' knob, modulation control on the front panel, MIDI CC control, and you couldn't change the delay type without also changing the delay time. The Nemesis can do all of these things, and more. The Neuron app that allows you to deep-edit the patches also goes much further than TC's Toneprint. The pedal sounds beautiful straight out of the box, especially the vintage emulations which are what I'm looking for! They've recently added two emus of the Binson Echorec which are fantastic. The unit can accept stereo line-level inputs so can be used as a desktop send effect in your studio.
The only reservation I have is the quality of the central patch-selector knob. It feels cheap and plasticy, and slightly wobbly. The rest of the build quality is very solid so this was a disappointment.
Great delay pedal
This pedal is really a great one. The delay possibilities are many, and the sound is clear and good. Very versatile and tour friendly. I'm really blown away by all it can do. It's a keeper.
p.s. the Source audio customer service is great also. They answered my questions fast and were very nice. Really good company.
versatile, compact and groundbreaking
i was searching for a stereo delay with better expression pedal possibilities and more midi functions and a smaller size. this thing has all that and more! the expression controls go in whichever direction you wish, not like many pedals where you can only program knob twists in one particular way. the midi possibilities are almost endless as well. i use it for live with my g lab gsc-4 and almost every parameter is tweakable with control changes. tons of great sounds from classic and weird vintage delays to ping pong. tons of pitch/harmony delays. the helix sound is a cool almost organ like sound. hold function is great too. and programming with the neuro app works great and opens up the true potential of this pedal. every update has improved the pedal, even added new delay sounds and this modern possibility is a great addition. this thing is worth every penny and is my opinion cheap for all the things it has to offer.
