Squier Jazzmaster 40th Anniv DS Reviews
CLASSY EXPERIENCE AND VERSATILE
I love the specs and finish of the body. Not loving the satin neck so much, because mine came with sharp frets, but maybe was just my case. Other than that, after a polish, you have a great axe in the jazzmaster park sounds. Nice trem bar, good pickups, solid construction. Oh, aesthethically: stunning.
Epic for a great price
I have no idea why I did not get a Jazzmaster until now. It’s not a Tele, it’s not a Les Paul, it’s more like a Rickenbacker with its own very specific sound. I’ve been chasing this particular sound via other guitars and amp combo’s. But now I know this Jazzmaster sound is unique. As I was not sure, going into this buying decision, I went for a Squire, which is always a great starting point. The build quality is excellent, the finish is perfect, fret ends smooth with a matt finish on the neck. Some people might not like the aged/matt bridge and machine heads. I was not sure as I unboxed it, but after plugging this in and dialling up some nice tones on an amp, I put my Rickenbacker back in its box, put the Tele in its case and hung the Les Paul back on its hook as this is my new go to. Brilliant guitar.
