Best guitar I've had so far

I sold my Gretsch Electromatic to buy this (far cheaper) guitar and after polishing the frets and oiling the fretboard, doing some minor setup things I must say it's probably one of my favourite guitars that I've ever played. I have owned a fender jazzmaster before but that one had a messed up truss rod.

I love the sound and feel of this guitar, the only things I would change are to get thicker/taller frets and just some better pickups (even though the installed ones already sound very good). The trem bar also comes loose a bit too easily, I'll come up with a fix.

Stays in tune remarkably well for a JM. I've seen some comments about the tuners etc but I've personally had no problems with them, I guess it could be a matter of luck with the exact guitar you're gonna receive which is a bit of a bummer. Even if the tuners were bad they are cheap and easy to replace.

Good, but you'll need a good setup

I'll start off by saying this is now one of my favourite guitars, which I'm really fond of and extremely happy about. Yet, I would NOT have said so when I received it.

To say the fretboard was dry is not even close to being an understatement, I was also greeted with the scratchiest frets ever made, and overall bad fit and finish (paint crack next to the neck pocket, scratched and marked fretboard, glue on the headstock...). Almost forgot about a pretty mid fret job and dead B and high E strings due to high 21st fret (factory strings were crap of course).

Otherwise, the neck is extremely comfortable, after a thorough cleaning done in part by me and mostly my tech it plays great, frets are big, so you can dig in, and the guitar is really a good player !!

Trem feels nice, yet a bit rattly... Pay attention !! On this model the bridge is not locked and will easily move, throwing off your intonation etc... you can lock the bridge posts in place though so not too much of a bother

Pickups sound fine, rhythm circuit puts the "jazz" back in jazzmaster ;) and sounds amazing!!!!!!

Tl;Dr: Guitar is good, be well prepared to not have a playable guitar out of the box!

Not good enough.

Looks beautiful but that's about it. At this price you'd expect smooth frets. Second squier that I've purchased with crap frets. Also had a smear of dry glue at the 20th fret.God be with the days of physical shops, online guitar shopping is hit or miss. Squier was better before.

Needs attention

Great instrument however like most Squiers it needs attention straight out of the box. Fret and nut polishing and a full set up is mandatory for this to be playable.
