Squier CV 60s Jazz Bass LRL LPB

A guitar that attracts visually and sounds well

First of all, the CV 60s jazz in lake placid blue with such a fretboard design is a bingo, the looks are just as amazing as in photo, blue metallic paint makes you stare at it for a long time with a smile on your face.

Regarding the quality of instrument there are minor flaws, but overall I got really good one, the square perlodid blocks are fitted into fretboard so well that you can't tell they were separate from wood. Even the shape of nut is made for maximum comfort of your fretting hand.

Tuners are solid and tight, they hold tuning well and have warm feeling of weight when you turn them.

Fret work is fine, no sharp edges, but I think these frets have to be polished to make slides easier.

Guitar needs setup, I think it is okay, just adjust truss rod and bridge, standard procedure for new guitar. It would be nice if the Squire would put the keys to adjust the bridge and the rod, these 2 metal pieces are not expensive after all.

Pickup cavities' have minor shape flaws, they are not so precisely carved out , but it is not critical issue.

Sounds pretty well, even suitable for recording and gigs, I am planning to change pickups but it's not because they are bad, they have a good jazz bass tone you can be sure about it, it's a good idea to invest in it to make it your own instrument.

Overall I think it is a really good instrument, even better than ordinary CV 60s jazz, perfect platform for future upgrades as it has a good body and hardware, I think it's the most significant aspect for guitar in this price range. CV series is way better that affinity, it has a greater value for its price, so I recommend to save some more money if you are wobbling in between.
