Great sound, very happy!!!

I'm upgrading from a mbox 2 mini. Impressed by the low noise floor and high dynamic range. High quality build. No problem with the driver, I'm using Studio One 5 on a windows 10 machine. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a pair of high quiality mic preamps. The big blue knob is an unexpected plus (very easy to adjust levels precisely).

the ID14 Killer!

I recently returned the Audient ID14 after being severely disappointed with it, and it was a toss-up between the SSL2 and the MOTU M2. I'm SO glad I chose this interface. Downloaded the drivers, installed smooth, plugged it and it just worked, no hassle.

Sounds great, is built great, looks great. Oh, and the feature that automatically mutes your interface when turning off and on the phantom power is awesome.

SSL 2 - My Best Friend During Lockdown!

Had to go for the SSL at this price point and it hasn't disappointed. Sound quality pretty clean without the 4K button. But the 4k definitely adds some magic when needed. Very portable and easy to bring around, as well as storing when not in use. If there was one tiny thing I would say, some of the parts are a little flimsy feeling, especially the 4k buttons and the big blue monitor knob, but that's it. In contrast, the gain control knobs feel great, like proper console knobs! Lastly, I am sorry I didn't go for the SSL 2+ with the Midi capability and the extra headphone monitoring input. I didn't think I would need them, but really they would have been useful in the long run.

Simple & Great!

I have been looking for something simple, easy to control, and user friendly, and that's it! sound quality is good as well.

SSL-2 Interface: Excellent

I bought it out of necessity as the drivers where too old in my old interface for an update. I heard from a friend who got the SSL-2+ that they where the bees knees and I had to check for myself. And they're everything about the bees!!!

The clarity is spot on and with the extra 4k boost it's just oozing with sparkle! Very simple to use... plug it in, open your DAW and away you go. Everything sounds clean, crisp and perfect going straight in or mic'd up through an amp/effect pedals etc.

Cons: It was a little bigger than expected but it's still pretty workable! It's pretty much exactly what I was looking for.

Mind Blown

I needed a simple, workhorse audio interface to record voice-overs and present live product demos using OBS and boy does the SSL 2 deliver!

I was sick of seeing super-slick, anodised and knurled looking batman style interfaces. For that reason, the SSL 2 stood out to me as being no-nonsense and has a really refreshing look with those industry style knobs and spacious top panel. It fits comfortably next to my MacBook Pro and also works fine through my powered USB3 hub.

I’ve left the 4k switched on for all recording, It is super crisp and really lifts the vocal. I’ve been so happy with the audio straight out that I don’t even EQ the audio… shocking I know!

I really enjoy the simple method for the headphone monitor mix, you simply mix between ‘input’ (whatever you are recording through the SSL 2) and ‘USB’ (whatever you’ve got coming back in from your DAW/Mac).

The inputs and outputs are well made and I love the Spinal Tap reference with the Monitor level maxing out at 11 rather than 10.

I can’t see anything else for similar money matching up to the SSL 2 for my needs. It is well built, looks the business, simple interface, sounds great and finally comes from incredible heritage.

Best 2 channel audio interface for money !

Fantastic sounding, very high quality. Outperforms all other interfaces I tried at this price. I tried audient, focusrite etc etc.

If you want great sound, monitoring, quality, simplicity its a nobrainer.

Best off all it has a lot of gain and can drive my SM7 and royer microphones without extra gain.

A BIG LITTLE THING

Firstly as i was getting to know with this guy i had mixed feelings. After just a day in the studio with it i know that we will have a long relationship together. It is a pleasure playing around with the knobs. The sound is amazing for a little device. With the SM7B, FetHead and the 4K button it kills the game. You have a bigger option with the SSL 2+ also, if you want to conect a MIDI or make a colabo.

I had few questions to SSL and they have responded within an hour and helped a lot, which is also very important.
