For the price it's good

Been using this one for years, been reliable and dims some 1k lights without any effort given... (fixed installation, sanctuary use)

Unit works exactly as expected

I used this device to control several electric things like ordinary lights, a motor, a fog machine. Propably you should know a little bit about how electricity works before connecting anything to this device. I have no idea what would happen to eg. a fog machine if you dim power down.

The only thing which I don't like is it's weight. The pro-side of this is that I do not have to take care about placement. The unit seems very robust.

Very qood quality item

Constructed very well and have used them for years. Have bought 6 of these for multiple applications.

Klein beetje rare bediening

De dimmer doet wat het beloofd.

Alleen de bediening was eventjes zoeken zelfs met de handleiding er bij. De M10 schroefdraad maakt dat we deze gemakkelijk in de buurt van onze PAR kans kunnen hangen.

Does its job

Works fine by dmx. The user interface is straight from satan through, if you aren't some sort of genius with a photographic memory, of course. Only buy if you are going to use it by dmx, and even that could prove impossible without a manual to set it to dmx mode

very good choice

It is an affortable Dimmer, BUT. It has 1.5 mm2 cable for power input, and it should have 2.5 mm2. So if you use the maximum output (16A) for over 20-30' the cable will heat up.., Hope that Stairville will fix that

Best value for money

Used it for several years in any condition and never had a problem.

My only issue is about the menu function which is rather difficult.

Using it for all sorts of mid sized concerts, workin great! :)

Very compact in installation on trust

Amazing Dimmer Pack

Given it's cost and size the Stairville DDS 405 is by far the best low budget DMX Dimmer (of this scale) we have every worked with. It doesn't bring the well known noise on any speakers while it can be mounted on any truss of stand or even be hidden anywhere. That was a good choice.

Good and small to take with me

If you have to do small projects or need some extra channels, then this product is made for you. It?s nice that this dimmer has regular socket so you can plug it basically everywhere. Has it own brain and also can add to DMX line.

Versatile Dimmer

Good mix of features: Individual DMX addressing, variable pre-heat setting, sturdy. Performs well in a drama theatre environment.

4 channel

I don't know if it is only mine, but i cannot fully turn off channel 4 l. the indicator light is dimmed but always on.

This basic 4 channel dimmer is easy to use, cheap and ready to rock and roll! get em while theyre hot!!!! (Hopefully they are not hot!)

Perfect for the job

I bought 4 of these for an upcoming event. They are perfect for fitting to the top of t bars. Small, light and powerful. I ran 3 x 1000w parcans off each dimmer pack without any issues.

The only negative point I have found is the strain relief holding the input cable into the unit. It is a little loose and will eventually fall out. I am going to glue these in place to try and extent the lifetime of the units but can't complain at this price.

One final thing that impressed me with these units is that when I removed the Europlug on the input cable to fit a 16a Ceeform plug, the ends of the cable were booted so made swapping the plug really quick and simple. A nice detail that I wasn't expecting.

A good dimmer/swithcer

A very good dimmer/switcher to control via DMX. It occupies four channels that, each one, can be configured as dimmer or switch. It has the (extreme for me but welcome) ability to give independent (and not necessarily serial) addresses to each channel, so it has great setup flexibility. A real good piece of equipment, from which I am very satisfied.

We are pleased with it!

Good product, we are pleased with it. Functional and robust, easy to use, understandable in configurations. We haven't encountered any problems with this product. Very intuitive and easy to understand manual. When used as a dimmer on low levels you can slightly hear distinctive buzz which is typical for this kind of devices. The only thing I found inconvenient, is the fact that every time you turn the device to the mains, it starts in the StandBy mode. I then have to force it to get out of this mode by pressing and holding the Menu key. But that's not a big problem if the device is easily reachable.

Stairville 4 channel DMX dimmer

Great little box, easy to setup and mount and a great price. We are a small theatre group and use 8 x DDS-405 giving 32 circuits which are controloled by our old Strand 24 DMX desk. We now have shorter cable runs and better power balancing, simple patching into the desk, making setup and striking much less effort.

Very satisfied

I bought this product a while ago and it has always performed faultlessly. This dimmer pack can be very useful for theater but before you buy this product take into consideration the wattage of your lamps because this dimmer pack has a limit of 1000 w per channel. If you're not planning to use more this is the dimmer for you!
