I bought this as a simple way to change my mobile lighting rig from fixed held colours to sound-to-light to blackout and it does the job PERFECTLY! All it took was for it to be connected at the end of the chain from my lighting desk, a few buttons to arm the record mode and it saved each scene effortlessly. Gone is the mixing desk and this is all I now need. I've even built a simply IEC plug extension cable so I can power this directly from one of the fixtures. I owe whoever designed this thing a beer or two.

Decent little unit. Perfect for recording live streaming dmx. While listening to music, you can record on this lighting recorder, and jam along with the lighting sliders, on your lighting desk, recording light changes in real time, for later playback to your music. It’s crazy they fit this with rack ears though?, it’s got so many essential plugs , on three of its four sides, powercom, dmx ins and outs, sd card slot etc, there’s no way you could ever fit this on any sort of rack. Too many cables in the way. Besides that?, a great little unit.

I tried this out primarily as a Wifi to Artnet converter, it worked fine unless Wireless DMX was used in the same room, I tried both Lumenradio and Wireless Solution G5 either way it would instantly stop receiving. I connected it to a external router and it worked fine. I can't comment on the how well it works as a recorder, but its nicely made for the price
