Excellent, easy to use

These are an excellent product at an excellent price. I got floor lights for flexibility - even though they'll be used on stands most of the time or sometimes on wall rail.

The dip switch system is easy enough to use. I don't go in for flashing lights or music controlled lights but those functions are there.

They can be used individually with the dip switches, but I've also got a small controller (Stairville DDC 6 DMX) which has basic control, and some dmx leads to connect the lights so I have more control during a gig. All I need is to be able to change the RGB balance and raise and dim the light which is easily done through the controller. Without the controller you can't raise and dim the lights, but you can have basic control over the RGB through the dip switches.

I've used some of these lights for the last year or so and have never had a problem with them. They are sturdy enough for the price, and it is a very good price.

I use the lights in small spaces - gigs in a gallery and in an old chapel - so I don't need a huge amount of power - these give me enough to add atmosphere and to highlight the performers.

There are two versions of this light - one for hanging off a stand, and this one which is a floor light, but although it's called a floor light it will also obviously hang off a stand - so it seems mad to go for the other one when you get that added versatility for the same price!

Serious Fun

Brought the Stairville LED PAR 56 Black Floor on a bit of a wim as my band were shooting a promotional video - at this price, it's worth a go.

Was seriously surprised by the quality and the output of this thing! In a dark room, this LED PAR rocks and is a great addition. Perhaps the build quality could be sturdier but at this price point, there has to be a compromise somewhere so no complaints from me.

My only other comment would be that the inbuilt microphone can be a little sensitive - no big deal though.

All in all, i'm glad a purchased this - works great at shows.

Good value for the money

Bought 5 in total and have used with a dmx controller.

Have used them in small to medium size venues and outdoors. They add enough to make a difference and didn't break the bank. I use old mic stands to mount a couple onto.

Great quailty

The Stairville LED PAR 56 Black Floor light fittings are great quality and extremely well priced. They offer stand alone functionality with pre-programed settings or optional sound to light operation. They are also fully DMX compatible and can form and fit into any lighting equipment array. All functions and DMX addressing is done by setting the appropriate dip switch setting. The instructions are clear and concise and does not take a degree in lighting design set-up to achieve the desired output.

The manufacturing materials are light but sturdy enough to endure on the road maneuvers and countless setup and breakdowns.

The light output is good giving the equivalent of about 150watts, the LED's are low power consumption, and long life with very little heat output.

Overall you couldn't go wrong for this price and would be on par to more expensive fittings.

This PAR56 is a great product from Starville. Completely surprised how well built it is and the features available for the price.

It comes with several functions which include the easy setting that results in the light changing colour due to volume peaks in sound. A good cheat if you don't have access to a lighting desk and you are the performer so want lighting to change without you having to make an input.

It also has DMX in and out, which is very handy if you are wanting to be more professional and connect all the lights up.

The whole light is very well made and robust. The finish is also a nice matt black.

Good installing to gym aerobic hall

I used this ligt as a mood light in aerobic hall and it worked well. I used 4 in every corner. They work on atomatic mode and for that it is working well. As mobile dj these lights are to big and there are much smaller lights on the market to use.

Stairville LED

The material for these light is very malleable, which means it doesn't take much to bend the chasiss out of shape. They suffered a fair few dents on their first outing, but its quite easy to bend them back into shape. The light output is not massive but i knew that from the research i did before purchasing.

very good

Came with eu plug and with adapted plugs free of charge. I have swapped the plugs for IEC 3 pins power work great, bright and for the price a bargain! I will buy more definatley.

I love these things! I use them all of the time. they respond to DMX well and on the automatic mode they work well too, and they are also of a decent brightness. I hate the dip switches, totally annoying. and the mic is a little to sensitive to be useful.

Light Up the Night

Bought a pair of these. Excellent value and very good light output for the price. Very easy to program. Ideal for Bands and DJs lighting pubs/clubs/small stages etc. Low energy use so they do not get hot, have longer life and more robust than flilamant lamps. (These replaced our old incandescent PAR cans which used to get so hot they would melt cables or singe carpets they touched, grill the band and had to be left to cool down before packing away) Highly recommend LED PARS we have eight in total and are a much cooler band now!

Great Value

This product is great value and very durable. Can light up a stage or a dancefloor and has multiple settings. Great light of it and bright colours. LED bulbs are excellent. Will be purchasing more over time for sure. A+++

Great Value!

These are great little lights for the price! We've used them for around 2 years now, and they've been brilliant. Only problem we had was a dry solder joint causing a couple of the LEDs to stop working on one of them. The fault wasn't too noticeable and easily fixable. For the price though, we can't fault them. Would recommend and use again!

Very Useful Fixture

I've have had four of these units since January 2012. I have used them for a few different types of design. Unfortunately the unit does not have a massive light output so use at distance is not that effective. Also due to the RGB colour mixing (with the lack of white or amber LEDs) the unit don't give a clean white colour.

However for uplighting or effects these fixtures are great as they are cheap and easy to setup. The two bar stand make them useful for either rigging or putting on the floor.

The dip switch on the unit does restrict the amount of DMX channels that can be selected but as long as the fixtures are patched with in the first 122 channels it's not really a problem.

Overall I found these to be very useful for uplighting and effects but wouldn't recommend them for theatre use due to the light output, colour mixing and dimmer curves.

Perfect uplighters create a great effect

We were using ordinary PAR56 floor cans for our youth hall in church. The LED PAR cans

are much more versatile, the bulbs last much longer and they are much safer ( no hot bulbs). The various colour combinations mean no mre gels to replace! Very good value for money.

Good for the money

An excellent product for the money. The automatic sound triggering is far too sensitive for my use.

The automatic features are great and the DMX control very good however the DMX addressing is limited to 192 channels.

Brilliant Par Cans

Have 6 of these par cans in total now. Never had any problems with them. Sturdy and hard wearing once you look after them properly. Good bright light and colours are nice and rich. Light to sound function very good. Would highly recommend!

LED PAR 56 Black Floor Lights

These are an okau light... would probably work best as a Band light but not really suitable for uplighting as they are not over bright.. They dint easy enough so a case is a defenite... you get what you pay for really!

Not very strong, but good price

These lamps are cheap, but they are good for the price. The lamps are not very strong. Pointing them towards walls in a somewhat 45 degree angle half a meter close to the wall, give good light for the first 1,5 meters, then the color fades away as you look up, until you see the ceiling where much of the color again. With four lamps they still give lots of atmosphere to a 10x5 meter room. They are great for the price and give atmosphere both to rooms and stages, but they will not rock you. Also great for decorating with placing them inside transparent boxes and stuff for making a cool stage.
