Good guitar for young kids

Perfect size for 6-7 year old, built quality is good.

A good starting guitar for kids.

cheap enough to be used as a toy guitar replacing plastic or cheap kids toys.

Good for the job

I purchased this for my son to learn guitar at school. It's no signature model, but it's perfect for the job as I didn't want to spend a fortune on something that /could/ be a flash in the pan, but at the same time you don't want to risk putting a child off with a poor quality instrument.

This guitar has a reasonable tone, doesn't go out of tune every time you breathe and is a good size for a 7/8 year old. Of course... if it could make him a rock god without any practice he'd like it a lot more...

Perfect guitar for a kid to start playing

Bought this guitar for my 7 years old son.

And he likes is so much - fretboard size is just perfect for his fingers.

Fretboard itself is pretty simplistic, tuning is also can be bit tricky at the beginning, but replacing string with better ones solves the problem.

In general its a good guitar for kid for the price

Perfectly adequate beginner guitar for kids

I'm delighted with this guitar really. Was bought for my daugher who wanted to start lessons. It's nothing fancy but sounds OK and a great low cost option if you are not sure if your child is going to want to continue after a few lessons.

Only negative is that 2 of the strings (G and B) don't hold their tune so well. I'm sure it's an easy fix though. The other strings hold tune nicely.

Great considering the price

It is a 35 bucks 1/2 guitar and when I ordered it I was somewhat affraid of what I will actually get as it was a gift. And I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and looks of the guitar.

Ok, it looks really good. The first glance at the guitar did not reveal anything that would show its low price.

I was also affraid that the fretboard and frets will be sharper, but they are not. My girlfriend (150cm) to whom I have bought it has been playing it regularly and has no problems with scratches and all these annoying things some cheap guitars cause.

The sound is fine. Took it to a friend who is a long-term guitar player and he did find only a few things which could e really improved (e.g. the neck is not completely narrow, it was just slightly bend).

The only problem with in terms of function is with the tuning machines - they cannot keep the tune well and the guitar has to be re-tuned every 2-3 days. Maybe different strings would help but as it is the review of the product delivered, I should talk about the product which came in the box without any changes.

In terms easthetics I also have only one problem. The insides of the guitar really smell of glue. I would say that they REEK of glue. You cannot really smell if you just hold the guitar, but when you inspect closely you can really notice it.

Overall it is a great product for the value. You cannot get anything of this quality cheaper or even close to the price. If you are just a beginner or getting it for a beginner than I would not stop you from buying this one. At this price you can always upgrade without any remorse and use this just as a back-up guitar or a travel guitar.

Startone CG 851 1/2 review

This guitar was bought for my six year old son as a birthday present. It is good product and good quality to price ratio. The dimensions of the instrument are appropriate for the child in those years. Only slight basic setup needed.

Not bad at all

For kids who are absolute beginners you are looking for something that is cheap (in case they give up early) but good enough not to put them off learning. Startone is exactly fit for purpose. Stays in tune, sounds ok, easy to play.
