better than I expected

This classic guitar is so cheap that I can't complain for the not so good sound quality.

It can be a very good present for amateur guitarists or it can be useful as a second guitar.

Somewhat good for the price

I bought this guitar and I had basically no use for it. I don't play that instrument but I decided to get a non-expensive one and give it a try. At the moment I like this guitar but I think it might be somehow better but for this amount of money, this is good. I can't complain, this isn't meant to be a very hi-quality product as you may espect but you can play it - which is nice of course. My conclusion is that this is for beginners, to give the feeling of playing guitar, not for hobbyists - even they won't probably need an expert guitar, but they should plan to get something else. Plus, this guitar was very nicely tuned and I didn't expect that at all, nice job!

Very Bad. This guitar cuts your skin when you play!!!

Hi. I’ve bought more than 25 Startone CG 851 guitars last year and they were generally good. Only one or two had some problems. But this time all the 7 guitars I bought had the same big problem: The metal frets have not been smoothened at the sides, so they cut the skin of the hand of the guitar-player like a razor!

It’s impossible to play with these guitars. They tear your skin off (cut your skin).

Perfect campfire-guitar

I bought this one for the occasional use as I normally play an electric guitar.

The sound is quite good as I can judge it. Also the quality is really good for this price.

The mechanism and the tuning-stability are very good.

Only the patterning on the body could be a bit better. It looks a bit like pixels from a video game.

You can't expect more for this low price. I don't think it can be used on the stage, but for campfires and for fun-jamming it is perfect.

Excellent guitar

Excellent guitar. I bought this guitar to offer a friend. I played with it several times, has a very comfortable neck, and a good sound. It is excellent for those who are beginning to learn guitar, or even for anyone who wants a guitar to use at home. My friend is learning how to play guitar, and loves the guitar.

My Rating

This guitar is fine as a start, however its finishing is so so, and it's sound is fine but materials are extra low quality.

I also found a crack in the wood inside it that acts as a bridge, not a big problem, but its fine for a start.

UPDATE, 2 years later and the guitar is in a good state. I changed the strings once and replaced the plastic nut and saddle with buffalo bone nut and saddle and it sounded better. however the sound is still not fancy, because of the wood quality and type i guess.

Cheap, but awesome...

This guitar really surprise me. I didn't find fuzzy frets, dead notes or something like that. It comes in cartoon box, but fr that price, it's normal. You can't expect wonders from this guitar, but it does sound great. For beginner, this is perfect choice. You can play almost anything on it. Do not forget, this is classical guitar, not dreadnought guitar....

I will recommend to change the strings, and you'll find the full potencial of this guitar.

I play on it every day, make a records. The best part is the price. You don't have to worry about it. The price is so low, that makes it worryfree....

Startone CG 851 4/4 review

Entry level guitar. Perfect for a kid or an adult that start learning. Easy to tune (sometimes this inexpensive guitars can not be tuned properly or do not stay tuned). Good if you want a guitar for playing on the beach or sailing. Good value for money.

Nice little nylon

I picked this up to make up the value of an order and was pleasantly surprised. Nice little player that I can grab, throw in the car if I'm away for the night, without worrying about it getting wrecked.
