It's a good guitar for that kind of money. It builds on frets, looks good, the strings are good enough to play it comfortably.

surprised

As a mainly electric player, bought it for warming up and overall easy access to my instrument , with the fraction of a price , fully functioning guitar is a great deal.

Very nice guitar considering the price

I have five stars in all categories because I haven't expected such a good guitar for the price. Certainly you have minor issues here and there (sting buzzing, finish drawbacks, tuning instability) but this Startone is a surprisingly good instrument.

I can recommend it for beginners because it is comfortable to play, it looks nice and it will cause no rejection to the instrument in future.

Even if you are not a beginner, Startone is a nice camping/travelling guitar.

Nice surprise

I have low expectations for this guitar, but actually it is a decent instrument for a beginer. I am playing electric guitars for a long time, and decided to try somethin different.

I can say that is slightly better ratio in money/quality than my HB SC550.

Cons:

- frets are not polished

- frets are slightly sharp on the edges, both of problems can be solved by yourself in 30mins

- some tiny dents on the body

Pros:

- all in all good finish

- you can actualy play it without anny problems

- keeps the tune well

- price

I have try the new strings (fender 100) and get slightly brighter tone.

All in all, I would totaly recommend this guitar, if you are new to the guitar world or if you have some experience this is good guitar to have.

Cheap classic guitar for beginners

Need a little bit upgrade. Sharp frets. Mashine head is broken

Not a good Quality product

Only a few months and the strings are not staying in tune and they have lost grip. So cant tighten the strings!

Price is great

But that's about it. Some frets make quite some noise even with good, new strings. It's just not good neough

Very good Price vs Quality

Bought this guitar while I was off working in France for 6 months, just to keep up the practice.

Very good quality price relation for a standard spanish/classic guitar.

OKay guitar

Its and okay guitar. nothing more than that. It doest quite look like the picture and isn't finished really nice but you can't expect that for this price.

Cheap and cheerful!

A good total beginner guitar for school group lessons where guitars can get knocked about a bit... and more expensive guitars may get damaged. A good price for a playable guitar before upgrading to a better quality instrument once a child has decided that they are serious about learning. Full size but thinner body which suits 9-11 year olds.

Everyone should have one.

What can you expect for ¤39? It is hard to believe that any guitar can be made for that sort of money, but as other have said, no one will believe you when you tell them that the guitar they are playing actually cost that little. The sound is that of a much more expensive guitar and the finish is not too bad - but still more than acceptable for the price.

Many inexpensive guitars have dreadfully finished frets which, in some cases, can cut your fingers as you slide across them. Not this one. The frets are finished as nicely as guitars costing twenty times the price. The machine heads hold the tune perfectly well and the intonation is fine playing chords from the nut ( I haven't checked it much higher up ).

This one lives in a church for general use and has stood up to the wear and tear without any signs of deterioration - so far.

Guitar for begginers

It's good for anyone who's starting to play guitar. It has a good sound, but the structure is simple and without great quality. But for the price, it's reasonably good and affordable

Unbeatable at this price

This guitar is used in a cultural association, where many people just grab and play it.

When I tell people it's original price, I get incredible faces.

Although it does look like a beginner guitar due to it's mid looking finishing, the comfort of the neck and specially it's projection and sound quality does make it look like a respectable instrument.

The strings that come with it are impressively OK. Of course a string replacement does improve sound considerably.

My guitar students (and myself) love this guitar for this price

I bought this guitar for a guitar student and we found out that a low price guitar can be a good quality guitar for beginners. This guitar is an excellent value for money (consider this when you check the stars given). I couldn`t find anything wrong on it for this price range, Obviously, if you wanna make your guitar better, you should send it to a luthier. This applies for expensive guitars as well. And I have to say as a customer... I respect a company which the delivery is always on time.

for this price a good guitar

The Startone CG 851 is available in different sizes (see my other reviews for each size and the whole series)

I had all 5 of it and kept 3.

The Look:

The colours are a bit different from what some pictures show, also some guitars are lighter some are darker but they all are pretty, a kind of yellow to orange light brown ish colour on the top and a wonderfull dark red wich shines in the light - they realy are beauties

Sound:

and they sound good too, ok the smaler the less but for example the 1/2 size i play a lot and it sounds more than ok, this one has a nice full and rich sound - for such a low price its really good

what else?:

playability is good

lacquer could be less thick

hold the tune really good

... i recomend, buy one ;-)

Good guitar for amateurs

A very good guitar for "for-myself-players". Nice soft sound. Good quality of guitar (workmanship). Taking into account its price - the instrument is highly recommended. And special thanks to the seller (very high quality of service)!

Very good quality at such great price

I recently bought this guitar after wanting to learn to play the guitar for so long and i wanted a hobbie, this guitar is perfect and the strings don't hurt my fingers like my old guitar did,

Would definitely recommend this guitar and this site for excellent quality products at such reasonable prices.

Cost-effective choise for beginners

Startone CG 851 4/4 was my first full size acoustic guitar. It's easy to play and stays in tune quite well. It served me well couple of years at home. Later I took it to my summer house and it's perfect for that kind of use.

Excellent value for money, good first guitar for beginners and it serves well as second or third guitar later for many years. In my opinion nylon string guitars are better at first to get your fingers used to playing. I have had no problems with this guitar over the years whatsoever. Just basic maintenance is needed to keep it in good condition for long.

Off course for this price you don't get the best materials or quality but it's so cheap that there is no reason not to buy it.

Very good value !!! Can't believe its this price !!!

Well, what can I say ...... a classical guitar for under £30 - and this isn't a toy either (lol). Seriously though, this is pretty good value for money. As some of the other reviewers have stated, it does go out of tune quite easily .... but that's easy to live with when stays in tune for a couple of hours strumming. To be honest, I bought this for my 7 year old son - he wanted an acoustic guitar, and I didn't want to pay a fortune in case he picked it up, and instantly lost interest. Well ..... he's absolutely chuffed with it! And me? Well, I'm happy he didn't want a Gibson standard (lol)!
