I purchased this for my 8 year old daughter who has been learning violin for three years. This is her second violin which she is very happy with. It's a well made instrument with a beautiful full sound. My daughter can now produce much richer and fuller tones than with her previous violin. The only issue is that the case does not have back-pack style carry straps, otherwise we are very happy with this instrument.

This may be too much for a student, however the sound quality is an amazing fact of motivation I could see in my son since he started to play it. It's mind blowing to see a 7 years old kid performing in a concert with this violin. It's also quite tough built, it dropped down twice so far and no scratch. The case it came with is AS-90/560-V, much nicer than the one in the picture. And the bow is AS-34, really high quality.

I ordered online, so I wasn't sure about the quality of the violin. However, when I received it, I was very surprised for many different reasons. First, the sound is just amazing with a clear and bright tone, which I would have never thought of hearing from 1/2 violins. Second, the outlook of the violin is just beautiful as well. Lastly, it was packed so nicely and sturdy that when I opened the package, it was very safe. I'm very happy with my purchase!

It is amazing what you get for such a price. The violin arrived in good shape, ready to play. The sound is good, balanced from low to top, compared to the fact that it is a 1/2 violin. The case is very light but solid and protects the violin very well. The weekest part is maybe the bow which lacks a bit of tension. For a really ambitious child I would buy a carbon bow. But my daughter will anyway get a 3/4 violin soon. The money for this violin is well spent.

I purchased this for an 8 year old who has been playing it now for some months. It's a great beginner's violin. It's not perfect - hence three stars for sound and quality, but in both cases the sound and quality are easily good enough for a child beginner, and in terms of cost / value, I don't really see how you could get any better. Everything is good. The violin is made well. The strings are not the best quality, but again - good for the price and easily upgraded if needed. The bow is fine - tensions well and well made. After a week or two (new strings) it settles down nicely and keeps tune well. Now it tunes exclusively from the bridge if needed - so only tiny adjustments needed and this is probably from temperature more than the violin itself. The teacher is pleased with it - she...
