Studiologic SL73 Studio 5-stars Reviews
A superb full featured workhorse!
Great for composing or controlling live MIDI. Full featured, with more settings and configurability than you need in a lifetime! Built like a tank!
Feeling of a real piano in an inexpensive keyboard
The beauty of this is that you can play any piano and get the same feeling out of it as if it were real. the keys have the right weight and feedback. I love this keyboard and do not regret purchasing it
Studiologic SL73 Studio
Great built quality, TP100LR keys are really great, only downfall is the funny joystick keys, they are not so precise. Mod wheels would be better much better feel. But overall, for the price i think there is no better midi keyboard.
Great keys for the price
Great keys for the price but could also take some improvements.
Pros
- Keys feel great! Better than expected for the price.
- The 3 joysticks are mappable and super useful.
- Good build quality overall. Nice metal casing.
Cons
- Lacking a couple of knob controls.
- Side panels feel like cheap plastic.
- Found absolutely no use of the menu options accessible from the screen. Imho, I would exchange the screen with a couple knobs and drum pads anytime.
studio logic SL73
The strength of this keyboard is relatively good, the feel is first-class, and the control interface is relatively convenient. I like this feel, which will make me return to music and create with my heart. The only disadvantage is the poor packaging and international logistics and transportation. It takes a long time, and the damage to the box will be a little serious. Fortunately, the piano is still in good condition. I hope the official side can pay more attention to the packaging of the goods.
Very good keyboard for low price
Pluses:
- good keyboard for low price
- natural tactile feel
- velocity curve editor
- bright, color and small screen
- light weight for types of this keyboards
- good quality of materials, well built
- good size for home studio and live concerts
- package included simple pedal
Minuses:
- main joystick is a not a good quality, some times you need push twice in process
- midi sticks in the left side of keyboard is a not really useable for fast work, small for fingers after usual pitch and expression that on other keyboards
- buttons near joystick are very loud for quite situations on concert
In fact very glad about this keyboard, and iam working in Ableton.
Love it!!!
Perfect touch!! beautiful body!!
Solid keyboard
Nice, rock solid metal case (only sides are plastic).
Keep in mind that keys on SL73 Studio feels heavier than keys of classical piano, the action is viscous and if you want a faster and "lighter" keys it would be better to consider picking the SL73 Grand edition (or SL88). Otherwise, you will get a muscle training station :) I got used to it after tweaking the velocity curve, but obviously, the physical key return is still slow so it's not the best keyboard for the fast rhythmical same-key patterns.
What's good about the keys – their range of sensitivity is wide, I barely can hit the 127 velocity. What's strange is the aftertouch resolution which is very low, but I think that's not critical as it's rare to be used on the weighted keys. Quality of keyboard is good and I love the joysticks.
It works out of the box with Linux! It can send the program change MIDI events after configuring its program presets, so, I think, it's a nice keyboard to be used with Pianoteq installed on Raspberry Pi or similar ARM board.
Keyboard works well being powered from my PC's USB, I didn't notice any problems, so, no need to plug the dedicated power supply.
Conclusion: a rock solid, heavy, weighted keyboard in a metal case, probably, the best you can find for such low price. Want faster keys? Take a look at SL73 Grand.
Excellent touch.
Even though the keys are plastic, it is a true pleasure to play on this keyboard. Easily better than my real 40-yr old Yamaha U1 (which I'm still keeping of course, not for the touch but because you feel its sound in your bones).
You should have bought this yesterday!
This keyboard blew me away for the price. It has it all: A nice interface, multiple effect buttons, room for 4 pedals, weighted keys, aftertouch, and a sturdy metal housing!
I'm currently using it to record in pro tools and it works flawlessly!
The feel is just great, instantly recognizable as a quality instrument. Since I've bought this item I've played it more than my actual piano.
Would definitely recommend this keyboard! No cons as of yet.
product is good , I’m very excited for this !
Top quality
Very solid instrument and very good keybed. Such a relief in today's market of MIDI controllers, that usually feature very cheaply built keyboards.
I would have liked it even more with a slightly lighter action and two octave +/- buttons.
Unbelievable!
It feels like a piano of 2 - 3 times the price. Absolute peach of a unit!
Amazing feeling.
Being a piano player, this is one of the very few keyboards I really like.
The only downside are the 2 (out of 3) joysticks. Not very intuitive but other than that, it's super simple to use it straight out of the box and I'm saying it again... It Feels Amazing!
A very valuable discovery.
I read about Studiologic sl73, but when I played first time,it was a very different feeling. The keys is hard but very nice "return". The feeling is that you play on an expensive grand piano. There are many function as a controller and friendly with many DAWs.
Best value for money
This is a great midi controller. The keys have perfect feeling for an average keyboardist. Pianist virtuoso may find them a bit lightweight and should prefer other options with heavyweight hammer keys. Very robust metal chassis and the knobs are high quality. The screen is bright. The size is just perfect for small home studios or transporting. Overall i think this thing is very very well prised for what it offers. Very recommended!!!
