It works fine. I use it to my home studio for everything. Drums ( almost as overhead), guitars, amps!. Ok its a bit fragile but you need to handle with care your mic. I am gonna by another one, it is cheap after all

Sounds great for its price. It is a little bit noisy, but with proper preamp it works well. It is not greates mic of all time but certainly can be used in podcasts / small home recording projects. Works suprisingly well with guitar amps.

Decent multipurpose mic

I use this mic for everything. From recording vocals to micing guitar apm, and I'm very happy.

It produce very nice, open and clear sound suitable for every kind of work.

Good for beginner

It's been two years now that I own this microphone. I used it to begin recording vocals, and instruments like an electric guitar.

The sound isn't excessively great but it does perfectly the job for beginners that really want something cheap to start with (this microphone survived more than half a dozen moving out from France to Sweden etc, it's quite robust thrust me).

Looking at the price, you really get a great quality product. The standard mount is quite plastic though, but the shock mount you can buy fixes that issue. A really cheap quality microphone for just regular use if you prefer having a separate microphone instead. Clear enough sound, might not really use it for vocals, but it's good for starter artists for instrumentals, like acoustic guitar and so on

Great mic for the price. Absolutely great quality build and sound.

Great for voice , Poor for capturing guitar + voice

There is a strong attenuation when you are not very close to it so

its not convenient for capturing a live session like you playing your keyboard and singing at the same time. This would be convenient to quickly prototype something without working on voice and keyboard on a separate track.

That beeing said , i found my voice sounded better once recorded. I could hear subtle frequencies i did not pay attention to when singing 'in the air'

Versitile and Reliable

A great microphone for the price, and has great clarity. I find it lacks in higher frequencies, but works well for a male vocalist. Has a wide pickup range, so I usually use them as boundary microphones, however also very useful at close range. I have a set of 5, and some of the XLR connectors on the microphones are a bit stiff, and the screw-fitting on the underside that holds the microphone together comes loose with regular use, however is easily fixable. I am disappointment with the included microphone mounts, as several I've had are too stiff for hand tightening. I recommend getting their associated shock mounts instead of the included fittings, however a file and a bit of elbow grease can solve the issue easily.

Overall, great audio quality, but the hardware leaves a little to be desired. The front LED is a very nice touch.

Excellent

I bough this microphone just for home recording and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality recordings it produces.

Unstability quality

I've bought 2 years ago one E205 - there was very good mic for its cost... But I have bought once more mic - this mic is unuseble... very noise mic... I think I got a defective one, but I did not return it, because the shipping would be more expensive than the microphone itself.

Amazingly clear and precise microphone

I use this mic for a home studio environment. My apartment is near a busy street, which made me worried on how ambient sounds sources would interfere, but it turned out to be a non issue with this mic.

The E205 sounds crisp and precise, and has a very good frequency response curve, which is on par and perhaps even better than many more expensive microphones.

My only other reference is Shure SM58, which granted has a different purpose, but in comparison, the E205 sounds just so much better - its insane.

Pros:

- Sound - it is very detailed

- Price

- Build Quality

Cons:

- None

Great budget microphone

Great for podcasts and for use in a budget home studio! I have had it for a year now and it is still working fine. Sound quality is amazing for the price- I could not have asked for more from such a cheap product!

Great value

I've been using this as a room mic for a guitar, and for some backing vocals. It performed both the duties well. It's a well built neutral mic for an extremely low price.

Great first mic or secondary. Comes well packed and in a good pouch. For this price I can think of now cons.

great working mic

This is the first condenser microphone I've received, and I've been using it to track vocals for some demos, at home. I was looking for a cheap microphone, since i wasn't concerned with achieving a high recording quality. However, I have been very impressed with the clarity and range of this mic. To me, this mic is satisfactory for honest, simple recordings of guitar, vox and percussion.

It feels solidly built and comes in a bag with a zip, which is a tight fit when the stand clip is attached.

Very sturdy and even heavy piece of equipment, I like black color and design soultion. Soundwise is very good, very low noise, decent dynamic range, leaning towards lows. Quite warm and pleasent reproduction. It hasn't any switches, but I wouldn't expect it in this price range. The packaging is excellent with nice little bag for protection. The adjusting for stand is included and I like the way how the boom is solved. Recommended, especially for single voice or guitar amp recording.

Paired it could be nice drum overhead solution.

a Steal for the price

It is only my second ever microphone and i have to say that it is more than i expected for the price i have paid for it. it is not playing with the big guns in but in its range it holds its own and more really. it is very clear and smooth and does not have the hiss and pop you could expect from the microphone of this price and does have a certain true and silky feeling from the microphone with a higher price marked. it is a really good safe buy for a beginner producer who is limited with cash.
