Superlux HD-660 Pro 32 Ohms Reviews
5 stars
The cans are a birthday gift for a friend so here are his own words: "5 stars! Lightweight and comfortable. Crystal clear sound that reveals very distinctly each instrument. I am delighted!"
Great sound for your buck!
I'm very pleased with these headphones!
Better headphones than others worth 80-100.
Honestly best headphones I have used.
Compared to some other ones in the past I have to say they are ten times better. I never tried fabric headcovers before but I was sick of fake leather headphones breaking up after while and boy I was surprised.
First of all the noise cancelation of high frequency sounds is top. I can not even hear my laptop fans when they are crazy. I competely love them for that reason and suggest them to anyone gaming on a laptop.
Sound quality is very good and actually much better than more expensive options I used in the past. Totally recommend.
very decent headphones for its price
just got this headphone that I will provide for mobile recording sessions. I made a quick comparison with my Beyer DT-770 Pro. First impression on the head : light and quite comfortable. Sounds not harsh, detailed, and quite natural. The very low frequencies are though missing (compared to the Beyer, which is not known for enhancing the bass...) but it won't be a problem for my use (recording, not mixing). The sound isolation is OK, quite similar to the DT-770. The manufacturing quality looks also OK, even though it's quite light and certainly fragile...
Cheaper Beyerdynamics HT 770s
Was looking for affordable headphones that have great sound quality. After sometime I came across the Superlux HD-660 Pro.
With the frequency response of 10Hz-30KHz music sounds amazing, I'm personally a huge bass fan and the headphones didn't provide the deepest bass I was after. However, after changing some PC settings I'm satisfied with the sound and cannot complain. There are definitely better headphones out there but nothing comes close at this price tag.
A steal for the price.
Cushion feels so good and light on the ear, sound stage is amazing.
Only nitpick complain is build quality especially for the cable is not the best other than that perfect :)
Quality headphones
Comfy, good balanced sound. Great value for money.
Review
Review from gamer perspective. First and foremost it's better than most of "gaming" headphones up to 100e i would say. Compered to my previous headphones samson sr850, these are a bit better sounding (sr850 was open back), hyperx cloud 2 are total trash, hd 660 absolutely better in every way, cooler master mh752 was pretty similar sounding, but it costs 90+euro. Comfort is acually good, I can use them all day and can't feel any discomfort, I've been using beyerdynamic dt 990 pro previously and it is even more comfortable, but we all know how much it costs... For example in csgo every step is clearly hearable, very easy to tell from which direction enemy are coming. Build quality, well it is thinner metal and cheaper plastic than in real beyerdynamic dt 770 or dt 990, but what do you want from 39e headphones and they're not even that bad...In the end I would recommend them for those who is not using them for studio stuff (I don't really know, maybe they are good for that too, not too much bass, highs not hurting ears), for every day use really solid headphones.
P.S they can have a lot of bass if you like it, just need to use equalizer (for example "Peter's qualized APO", plenty settings there).
disappointed.. :/
I am quite a fan of superlux headphones, they are amazing value for the price, i have a pair of HD681 which are great, though open, and 2 pairs of HD660 old version where i upgraded the cushions to velvet ones, and very happy.
I bought the HD660 PRO thinking it would be a nice evolution to the older HD660, but here is how they compare:
+ longer cable
+ comes with the velvet pads
+ better headband / slightly more comfortable
- the sounds is BAD, the bass is so wrong and kick drums come out extremely loud and compressed
- they are WAY less isolated, more like semi-open than closed, so they don't cut as much surrounding (eg. at work it's not great)
The worst headphones I've ever had the misfortune to put over my head
They don't sound good. They are not comfortable. And when I say "they don't sound good"; I mean that if you put these headphones over your head and mix a song, you would end up deleting the project because it sounds so bad. If you played the guitar via pedal with these headphones, you'd quit playing the guitar.
I just bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50x Studio DJ Headphones instead and they sound exactly like my monitor speakers. Perfect!
Could've been better
I used these for 2 days now and it's okay for a studio headphone and these are actually extremely comfortable but the sounding part is like okay you can get the same sounds from a normal priced headphones it's not bad but it's not a studio headphone quailty sounding. Quality is not bad especially for this price it has good material on it and bad ones too but it feels like a nice quality headphones so it's ok. I recommend thesse if you are looking for a comfortable headphones to just listen to music or play guitar with it
Excellent choice for under £50
I bought this pair of headphones a week or so ago I use them as my daily drivers and for gaming. The pros of these headphones are the price construction and sound quality the only complaints I have are that the headband will dig into the side of your head the first you use them and that the cable is a bit to long for outdoor use.
