great for home recording

Really surprised with these, great width. For the price you can't go wrong.

Good but a bit unconfortable

This Superlux HD-662 have a nice sound, but they are a bit unconfortable cause they actually are very tight and not adjustable.

great Price/Quality product

I needed some headphones for my "beginner" home recording set up. I am not a professional but the sound is quite good and balanced.

Good sounding Headphones

Fantastic headphones, especially for the price. This is a really good sounding headphone which can even be used for basic mixing purposes.

Great headphones for Tracking

I bought these headphones as I needed a cheap backup pair for tracking music while my usual beyerdynamic 770s were in repair for a couple of weeks.

Use is exactly what you want them for - closed headphones great for tracking/recording with minimal bleed!

although the cons are the headphones cups get quite uncomfortable after a long period of time so be sure to give you or the player a much deserved break!

otherwise im sure the cups can be replaced with much softer ones quite cheaply if desired.

Highly recommended for tracking or backup headphones!

Get bad in 2-3 Years so Bad bad quality

At the beginning I was very excited with my sumerlux headphones. Nice bass and audio quality, and handled to recorded with close headphones.

But now I have a lossy equipment, no real bass(get loss over the time) and not that close as you need for a studio setup.

Also the cable it's not durable, short and bad assembled.

Not for recommendation.

Very good quality headphones

Very good headphones, clear bass medium and high frequencies. I have used them with different genres (metal, acoustic, rock, dance, dubstep and electronic music) and they worked great, I could hear every sound very clearly. Excellent acoustic insulation from background noise. Highly recommended!

Decent headphones, but there are obviously better

I got these as a budget pair of recording headphones when trying to bulk up my home studio gear. If you're on a low budget, like me, then these are great.

The headphones split audio really well and can be useful when doing a really rough mix. They're not only great for home recording but I use these when gigging with my band as sound/signal check headphones, which is particularly useful if we're playing in a bit of a rowdy, loud pub.

There are a couple of cons to these headphones, while they are generally comfortable, after a couple of hours they really do start to rub. Also, they're not completely sound-containing. The first time I wore them to record vocals with my Rode NT1A, when I listened to the playback I could hear the click track and other instruments below the vocals which was really annoying.

These aren't the bet headphones over, as you can expect, but for the price, they're ideal in a low budget situation

Ok as a spare.

Bought these headphones as part of a interface bundle. Already have loads of headphones but couldn't turn them away for the price. Material seems to be of a medium quality. To be honest I don't think these would stand the test of time but that will have to be yet seen. Sound is fairly flat which is good for mixing. headband adjusts to the users head but I find them to be quite uncomfortable after 10 or 20 minutes. OK as a spare but to be honest thats about all I would use them for. Come with a nice little bag and a screw on quarter inch jack which is nice.

Good enough, but broke pretty soon.

You see that lower strap there? The one that will rest on top of your head?

Yeah that one. It'll probably break for you too after a couple of years.

On the upside though, you get good phones for a very low cost during that time.

Bought as standby and became my number 1!

I can't recommend these highly enough. I'm a full-time audio professional and spend long periods of the day wearing "cans". I bought these as both my main pairs of headphones - BeyerDynamic DT100s & DT150s - were badly in need of an overhaul due to wear and tear. I found these so comfortable both to wear and listen to that the BeyerDynamics (which cost more than 3 times the price of these Superlux headphones) have been relegated to "spare" and the HD-662s have become my main set. I have recommended to a number of friends and colleagues and none have been disappointed. The build quality is excellent and although I had concerns that headphones at this price point might suffer wear and tear issues I am pleased to say they have lasted well for over two years without any problems. The enclosure is very good too - essential in a studio situation. One big issue with wearing headphones for extended periods of time can be the "fatigue" and often cheaper cans will begin to get sore or hurt. Again, this hasn't happened with these - the self adjusting headband keeps them at a comfortable level and also seems to avoid them being too tight. Great price/quality ratio overall.

Superlux HD 662

Bought these for our Drummer for recording sessions. Very comfortable for long studio sessions. They do isolate the drums a bit which is handy. I am going to buy another two pairs of these very soon.

Nice Headphones for monitoring

I have to admit that I already own an AKG K-271 and only needed the Superlux HD-662 for monitoring purposes. I really like the concept of AKG's self-adjusting headband, so I gave Superlux a try.

Actually the headphone is not as comfortable as the AKG. I have to put it off once in a while in big sessions because after, let's say, one hour the pressure can require a lot concentration. So I think the whole actually just looks the original but doesn't give you the feeling of it. This is but kind of what I expected.

About the sound I can say that they sound a bit more HiFi than actual studio headphones. Especially the high frequencies don't have a nice resolution, so I wouldn't reccomend them for mixing purposes. But for monitoring they work great. Also the closed design makes things easier in your home studio - you don't get that nasty headphone bleeding into your recordings.

All in all, in comparison to the price Superlux achieved, a good pair of monitoring headphones!

Not exactly brilliant, but useful

I use the Superlux HD-662 as monitoring headphones in the studio. It is very useful for this specific usage and it is not as bad as you could expect for this price when it comes to sound quality – but it’s not exactly brilliant. When you are on budget and maybe need more than one headphone this can be a cheap solution.

+ cheap

+ almost no crosstalk while recording

- not very detailed in sound quality

So if you need a cheap headphone for monitoring or the like, take a look at the Superlux HD-662. But when it comes to mixing or mastering do yourself a favour and spend more money and buy for example the beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO or the AKG K-271. Believe me, they’re worth their money!

Good in it's price range

Compared with other headphones in it's price range, this has more detail in mid-high and high frequencies. Quite comfortable.

The synthetic leather on the ear pads might crack quite easy but this doesn't really affect anything else than the looks. Built quite well, not much "bleed" while tracking voices or other instruments that require small distance from the microphone.

Quality bargain

I use them for practice on my roland drum kit.

Sound produced is clear and detailed. Kick sound is reproduced well. On some other headphones I tried, the kick was barely audible (eg HD-681F).

They are very comfortable over 2-3 hours sessions and don't squeeze my head to much.

It also provides decent isolation from outside noise and sticking noise produced on plastic/rubber cymbals.

Great Sound Quality, a Little Uncomfortable

Quality:

These are great headphones considering their price range, I have used them on countless electronic production projects and they have a very clear sound with great s/n ratio. Even for studio recordings they are useful, but will of course never reproduce low end sounds as well as a good set of monitors can.

They also act great as cans: I have used them to send a metronome to a drummer in a live set-up, he swears by them! Great external noise cancellation.

My only issue with these headphones is comfort, although the padding on them is thick and soft they are not very ergonamically designed and become uncomfortable quickly. Its not pleasant to wear them for any longer than an hour.

Overall these are versatile headphones which can be used for a variety of functions, the only thing I wouldn't recommend them for is casual listening as they are not very comfortable or stylish!

outstanding

these headphones have a great, really smooth & flat frequency response that you can feel confident mixing and mastering with ! they're sturdy enough to be used as acoustic drum monitors and handle high level clicks with ease. i use them sometimes to make sure my studio monitors are on the ball & they keep me bang on all the time, whatever the musical genre....... a must !
