Swissonic ASM7 Reviews
SWISSONIC
Great speakers at a very affordable price.
Great Monitors
Great monitors, had buzzing noise at first, but after a couple of tests with different equipment, found out that the noise was coming from my PC (ground loops on both USB and 3.5 ports), so if you have the same issue check on different equipment.
Clear vocals
These boys are chunky and sound the part! Controls on the back allow you to fine-tune their response according to your room setup.
There's a pronounced lower-midrange hump, but it doesn't seem to be too aggressive. Something I'll be mindful of.
Voices sound very clear and I now regret I published a mix a couple of days before getting these -- I would've fixed some issues!
All in all, good value
Underrated monitors
These are my first ever studio monitors so I did not expect much, but WOW, these blew me away. Especially at this price point I can highly recommend these speakers. Great for mixing and mastering, also great for the ears :)
After many youtube videos about affordable monitors for your home studio I've decided to go with my instinct to buy these ones even if I didn't know how they really sound and how will they sound in my little studio. Best decision ever! Good size, rich clear sound, perfect for composing and mixing. I'm a music producer that makes a living only from music and these took my sound to the next level.
Best value for maney.
I recommend that at this price
Home studio? Buy these!
I have owned these for about 9 months now and I am impressed. I Have a small home studio where I produce music and these are standing up to the job.
These are clear, clean and robust. The only problem is that they seem to not produce sub sounds brilliantly. This is fine for me as I reference my mixes on other speakers and headphones. Strapped for cash? BUY THESE
I'd buy everything that has word "swiss" in it
No, but seriously those are quite a decent pair of speakers for the price.
good alternatives to HS7s, but id probably buy different monitors if i were to re buy .
AWESOME
I love them. awesome price/performance, i didn t see any cons.
Great monitors, especially for the price. Im surprised. I bought them for monitoring during studio performances. But in the end I use it as a second monitors for production.
+ The build is very good.
+ Themselves go into sleep mode, and they can not be turned off.
+ The rear panel has a lot of connectors and settings for monitors in this price range, which is good.
+ Ports are located at the front, you can place monitors against a wall.
perfect for price
Sound is just crystal clear. I ve used mackies, icons monitor. But this one is simply best. It has enough build quality, lf hf trims and sweet sound. Price is bonus. Just waiting for different models from swissonic
Awesome for the money
Better than my Adam T5V. Need I say any more?
OK I'll add a few more words:
Build = Excellent
Sound Quality: Very flat, not a rounded sound at all. Some may say it's harsh I love it.
Features: Auto sleep function is most useful, rear adjustments are competent, front bass vent is welcome. Caters for TRS, XLR and RCA. Only downside is power switch on the rear.
I bought these for my lounge and they are now in my studio.
Super deal
Great!
For the price these are just great. I use them on my low budget studio for editing and mixing and I couldn't be more satisfied.
Great as entry speaker
These are probably the cheapest monitors I'd recommend someone to buy. I bought these for my friend I often write music with. It has ok bass response but I'd like to point out that bass speakers are quite resonating around 130Hz and I needed to compensate with a narrow notch on monitoring chain in the Reaper.
Better than I thought
Bought them without hearing them. Did a little research and overall got positive feedback about them. So I took the chance and orderd them.
These are my first ever own Studio monitors and I love them. They have a clean sound, good highs, good lows. Nothing to complain. Good build quality and everything!
So if your looking for a good first pair of Monitors than a relatively cheap. Go for these!!
Superb Value studio monitors
I bought these for my home studio control room, after searching for studio monitors that were within my budget I was left feeling a little confused and stuck to what to go for but then I came across these speakers.
I was originally going to get a pair of Yamaha HS5's but reading the spec of these I was intrigued as they were miles cheaper allowing me to buy more bits for my studio build, BONUS!
what really sold it for me was the front-mounted ports rather than rear as I know I would have issues with bass reflex hitting the wall behind with them being situated so close to the wall.
Volume is enough for my small room I am putting them in but a larger room I feel they might not be loud enough.
The sounds are exactly what you would need for mixing, they are extremely flat response with the option to EQ to your room using the cut and boost switches on the back which fell really sturdy switches and good quality too.
The same goes for the volume knob a really nice feel to the sweep, the cabinets are nicely finished and have a quality weight to them also along with that white driver they also look classic like the Yamaha speakers.
So to wrap it up superb quality build and sound for monitors that cost a lot less than pretty much any of the alternative monitors in this price bracket about and £180 it's for the PAIR! I'm surprised that there aren't more people talking about these online they really give the others a run for their money.
Incredible Quality for the Price
I use these when mixing our band recordings. I'd been meaning to replace the old setup for a long time, but I wanted front-ported speakers with reasonably large woofers, and most models are at least double the price.
So far, the whole band is very pleased with the quality of the sound.
Pros:
The price.
The sound - the treble is clear without being harsh; bass is exceptional for the size without sounding artificial.
The general build quality.
Cons:
None - not one.
I like them, but do need a sub
I use them for mixing and find them to be lacking a bit in bass. Personally find the body feel lacking. They are great for tracking high frequency sound.
All in all they look and sound nice, other then my own personal issues.
Smooth top end.
OK I will admit that these speakers have a terrific overall sound especially the smoothness of the tweeter. I use them to check mixes from my studio and also for my regular computer. The annoying problem about them is the EU mandated automatic Stand By mode. The sound when they go into Stand By mode is a quite audible crack and thump. This feature can not be turned off. Maybe mine are faulty so I may get them checked eventually within the 3 year warranty. I have had them for about a year and other than the aforementioned annoyance I love the sound of them.
