Fantastic for its price point.

I bought this for my studio, as my monitors were lacking low end for when I mix down.

I qualified at the British academy of new music in 2009 as a sound engineer, and also produced music on this course alongside, and was wary due to the low price.

When it turned up, I was pleasantly surprised. The sound quality is fine for something in this price range, even a couple of hundred above for replicating frequencies in this range.

I saw few posts mentioning the crossover being "just a low pass filter"- this IS a type of crossover, so does exactly what it is meant to.

Somehow, it has actually reduced the noise my monitors produce when powered on as well, it used to be a loud click, now it is quiet.

This is indeed a very powerful, and loud, subwoofer if you want it to be that, or you can set it at an ideal reference level.

I have put two stickers on the rear volume dial, one for reference, and one for my own "party mode" which is louder, but still not even halfway up in a fairly large room.

There is a huge amount of excursion on this subwoofer, another thing that surprised me in this price range. It has never soft bottomed on me.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for features is the lack of a foot switch.

If you wish to add a sub to your studio, or are using some cheaper monitors and also want a sub to just listen to music, I couldn't recommend anything more than this product.

Very Very strong and louder

this one is very resistant. I have use it almost daily for 5 years and it still has almost the same quality compared to the first day that I unboxed it.

Really powerful. Great sound quality

Boooooom

Due to my setup and space, I can`t go big on monitors, so I got this to get some woof. And WOOF I got! This is a beast! I did not check the dimentions on this before I bought it, my bad, so it was a bit larger than I thought. Got it set up with my Presonus monitors and a focusright scrlett audio interface, and the sound is awesome. Maybe a bit too much for my setup, but this was the smallest one I could find. The sound and quality on this is worth the prize.

After having used this in my project studio for 6 months now, I couldn't be happier with it. It does exactly what I wanted and sounds amazing at any level.

Price vs. quality is awesome

Was looking for subwoofer in addition to my Yamaha HS-7 for home usage. This one turned out as rather good option. Price is great, sound is good. Crossover and volume settings are easy to adjust and match to main speakers. The only thing on downside is if you are using built-in receive/send to send signal to main speakers. It's a power saving mode (not possible to switch off), which activates automatically after some idle time and when you turn music back again - there is a notable click to the output. Not something super critical, but quiet irritating. The rest is good. Purchased it 4 years ago, works well so far.

These subs are LOUD!!

And much bigger than I thought they would be. In my opinion they are way too powerful for home studios. You might not think this is an issue, but for a small home studio, it will be difficult to set the volume right.

If you have swissonic studio monitors, you'll probably be setting the monitors at 0 or even higher, while these will be below the first notch on the dial. Anything louder will shake your house.

Huge bass sound

I bought this without considering its dimensions. It's huge, and adds so much more bass to my mixes. (Too much bass? Never!)

Almost like an earthquake machine!

Well, almost. It can really make my house rumble.

I use it with two studio monitors and it fills the bass end of the sound space very nicely.

I wish they made it in white as well.

It's a bit heavy though. Some alternatives seem to be more lightweight and even smaller, yet the sound quality seems to be similar. But...

...It's a great sub for the price, even for a higher price. I have no complaints whatsoever.

No other look to if you are on budget

Simply, this sub was an addition to JBL 305 pair. Sounds cool, pretty nice, rich bass, and have good response at low freqs. This was exactly I have needed. Costs not too much and does this job very well. Well built. Would definitely buy again.

Unbeatable

Great sound and for this price range unbeatable. Annoying standby function that cannot be activated by footswitch like other competitors, but really the bang for the buck is incredible. Recommended with Adam F5

fantastic value and quality

this has got to be the best of its kind in the price range. setting up is very easy, no need to refer to the manual. its response is tight, you can really tell whats happening on your low end. I will put another one of these in the main studio for sure. Highly recommended for home / project studio use

Excellent subwoofer. Too cheap for this quality. Just buy it If you need an active subwoofer for your home or studio purposes...

This thing is a beast!!

Now I can add now low end to my mix without problems, the swissonic sub 10 is the best sub I've had with a solid bass that can bring down your studio, I love it because it's very easy to control and balance with your studio main monitors, am using it with my jbl 5 they blend together very well and am happy with it
