Blown away

Bought this as a gift to myself after growing tired of my G-maple SLP and what an upgrade it was. Seamless acrylic shell with a soft 45 degree lightly rounded bearing edge, Smokey black nickel hardware, high mass die cast hoops - the heaviest I’ve played by a long shot! - and even some newer features like the thumb-press snare strainer. This thing sounds light years better than any wooden snare I’ve played. The shell depth adds a real power behind rim shots at medium- high tuning with unparalleled attack and cut. For some softer dynamics I could see this being a touch invasive, luckily the tuning range is quite versatile - though to my ears it didn’t sound best at low tunings. I’m using this with a UV1 tune up kit and it’s easily the most impressive sounding snare to date, and easily rivals the dryer wooden snares.

Very pretty and versatile sound

This drum is amazing, im still playing about with the tuning but it is very versatile in its sound, and fits very well in a tighter tuning with my Pop/Rock bands live shows.
