I enjoy every minute with GOLD 8! Be sure to connect via XLR. I also recommend installing an additional passive volume control at the input to the speakers. I'm using Nobsound Little Bear MC2 Fully Balanced Passive Preamp. Bravo Tannoy!

The best speakers I've had!

I've had a lot of low budget consumer monitors Alesis, JBL, Yamaha, Presonus, but these "gold pieces" are top notch and definitely the best investment.The other monitors I've had are blurry and have very bad amplifiers and sound dispersion. Tannoy is a legendary monitor that has the clearest and flattest image without dispersion because the sound comes from a single point. And that is the beginning and end of the story.They also have the best stereo image I've ever heard in my life.

I use them as nearfield monitors but also as bookshelf speakers in a small room. I am very happy with the sound quality. I use to have Yamaha HS7 and HS8.

At higher volume i am using a subwoofer.

I am completely satisfied with these monitors. Clarity and fullness of sound throughout the spectrum. The dials being on the front are great and the auto off function is also good to have. The auto shutdown time is long enough that I haven't had them go into standby while working, but even if they did, they turn on really quickly when input signal is detected again - so it's no big deal if it happens anyway.

These monitors sound great for everything and anything I use them for and I would replace them with the same if I needed to.

Amazing clarity! Well worth the investment!

Incredible value for money

I've bought for home audio. Concentric speakers gives great soundstage and horn tweeters manages with no distortion down to relatively low 1.5kHz crossover frequency. Also integrated amplifiers assures perfect bass control. Comparable conventional audio amplifier would cost a lot of money. Speakers seams to be not very sensitive for wall location. Jack connection with hi-res audio player sounds really great. Golds looks very aesthetically pleasing, vinyl veneer fits well. Only imperfection noticed are single minor glue marks (black) on the front to housing connection.

Superb Imaging

A recent addition to my studio, but imaging excellence noted immediately. Bass may be a bit tubby; I need more time to evaluate. I will be using with and without sub alongside Dynaudio BM5s and Auratones with headphones also referenced when finalizing mixes. I like the fact the Tannoys include bass roll-off and level controls. Great price for a well-built product.

Excellent product and a great Tannoy representative

I have in the past Tannoy passive speakers and i was very satisfied with their warm british sound. I bought these active speakers remembering the sound of the old passives and for sure it is worth it. The speaker is a value for money because the quality of the sound does not have to do with its low price. Excellent clarity and quality from a speaker that is really represents its haritage called TANNOY with capital letters. Well done.

Absolutely a joy to listen to music

I went from Gold 5 to the Gold 8. They satisfies me with more resolution, punchier, clarity on the bass response. Oh yes those lower notes go deep and tight with impact and slam. Trust me you can only see a significant improvement if you invest 500eur plus on a quality subwoofer like SVS SB1000. In addition to that is all the goodness from the Gold 5: imaging is pretty correct, soundstage is wide, mid range is presented with such clarity that makes all vocals shine and mesmerizing, the high is beautiful without harshness or sibilance.

I can't speak for studio usage. But for music enjoyment. These monitors leaves me completely satisfied and fully immerse in the music. They give me an impression of bringing a concert to my own room. While looking so pretty in my set up <3

Well, this is literary the best sound!

Previously had Adam T8V and this beasts just killed them. Design, quality is superior.

Not much bass like in KRK, that's why I've ordered Swissonic Sub10 for them :)

What amazing weight monitor

About two weeks they came to China. When I open the package box，what amazing weight，and big guys. They have very very high cost performance with this price，8 inch coaxial speaker，front guide hole，and the most important-Tannoy. They are worth having!

great monitors

very clean monitors, cool detailing of the middle, I’m satisfied, they reached Samara (Russia) in 2 weeks, there seemed to be a blow at the post office, the decorative overlay over the speaker flew off, it didn’t affect the race, the overlay itself was glued unnoticed
