tc electronic Echobrain Analog Delay Reviews
Characterful and cheap
Little else to say about it: it's cheap and has the characterful sound you'd wish from an analog pedal. The maximum delay time is a bit on the low side, so it's use in e.g. electronic music (as opposed to its use as a guitar pedal) is a little limited. But at this price I'm not complaining.
Cool!
Been using this with my 20-year old Marshall Valvestate VS102R.
Love the sound, easy to experiment with, and seems quite durable.
Battery life is fine, too!
Love this
Great anolog pedal, with big buttons and retro feel
Not an expert
I am a fan of simple things to use. However, it produces a high-frequency sound that should be provoked from one of my cables when I drill up the time. I use it. It is convenient, especially for the price.
Nice analog delay
I bought it to try out different flavours of delay but this one its here to stay , its build like a tank and it sounds beautifully.
Beautiful
It does what you expect and its ANALOG! sad thing is that build up of feedback when you try to push the limits, which doesn't happen in other delay pedals.
I like to sound very much.
Can drive into self oscillation.
Great fun to be able to change the echo time at the twist of a dial for special fx.
Really simple to use.
Very sturdy enclosure.
I like to sound very much.
Echobrain is a no-brainer.
I have these expensive digital delays with loads of knobs to add saturation and modulation but sound-wise they can not compete with this one. Especially on a guitar this one gives immediately the sound I desire to hear. Playing with time and feedback sounds so analog and real but yeah.. this is real analog. The build is solid and the knobs have a nice resistance to them. You could complain about lack of features but this is it and it does what it does perfectly.
Cheap analog delay with great vintage sound.
I dont do experimental stuff, Im kinda traditional guitar player so I will talk about what I know.
Slapback echo approved.
Vintage delay approved.
Classic reggae sound approved.
The time knob it only goes to really slow reaggae, but not slower. I guess that makes it not totally versatile for experimental playing.
great pedal
Great pedal with no noise. In a pinch, good substitute for a reverb as well with a short delay setting giving a good presence. Great for a classic slapback effect, classic dark/degrading echos. This has to be one of the best pedals in this range. This and an overdrive pedal is the foundation of a pedal board.
The pedals in this range are really well built but big and heavy. still, the position of the jacks up top means it doesn't take up more width on the pedal board. Top mounted inputs is genius - why don't they all have this?
What a beauty!
This is truly a wow product. Its relatively basic delay features are just enough. The quality of the sound is great. When engaged, the pedal does not affect the overall signal level, which is great. It also adds no hum or white noise to your sound.
The build quality is just superb. That's where one can say "built as a tank". Beware though that the pedal is somewhat larger than regular. In terms of size, it is halfway between a regular compact-sized (but not mini!) pedal and a boutique-style one. The knobs are super-sturdy. When you rotate them, you get that pleasant feeling of moderate yet clear resistance.
Overall, it is a fantastic product at a very fair price.
Analog Delay from TC
Fijne pedaal. Proberen heeft zin.
Tc Echobrain Delay
The Tc Echobrain analogdelay, is just "THE" Delay that should be in any rig. It is superquality and sounds as good that my old vintage analouge delays like my old BEL delay and so on. The echobrain can go from suttle clean to extreme dirty feedback,..It is a creative tool in it self. Highly recommend,...It is also built for abuse,..and every part is high quality. :)
Great vintage delay
Great delay pedal. Again, easy to dial in and get a good sound. Awesome degrading delay like an analog delay should have. I have two issues with it.
1. As with the Fluorescence reverb, there is a noticeable volume drop when engaged, so it may be best to use in front of the amp. Analog delays were probably designed with this in mind back in the day, so doing so may give you a great vintage sound.
2. VERY limited delay time, but again, it's a vintage analog delay. 300ms is the max delay time, which is very little, and so it's not a musical delay. This is by design of course, so it's not a deal breaker, but it does limit its use.
Good range of delay speed and a good rich quality to the overall sound.
Impressive build quality too. Really robust, well put together.
I wasn't expecting it to sound this good.
Awesome BBD delay unit. I use it mainly for synths (mostly bass and mono leads), whilst being mono it manages to add some three-dimensionality to the sound, quite peculiar.
It's also great if you push the levels into it pretty hot, it adds warm saturation to the sound.
High Quality Item, very good value
This item was purchased in addition to a TC Electronic Skysurfer reverb to get towards a Hank Marvin sound. I was surprised immediately by the clarity and quality of the sound produced, (I was using a Stratocaster). The controls give a wide-range of effects and the delay on offer (up to 300ms) will suit most peoples’ requirements in my opinion. Used into a Ampeg bass amp, there was no discernible background noise. I will be considering TC Electronic for any further effects. Very pleased all round.
very good product
very good product, arrive so quickly
Superb quality and value
Usual excellent standard from the tc crew. Love the sound of this analogue delay pedal, I actually prefer it to my Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail which was 4 or 5 times the price. Rugged build, chunky knobs and the other great touch with this pedal is the audio jack sockets and DC jack socket are all located at the top end, not at the side, so you can snug your pedals up right next to each other on your board... space saver!
No cons for me, especially at that price.
Simple and useful
This is the kind of delay I like, simple, dependable, doesn't color the tone much. Easy to get that slap-back delay or twist some knobs and go over into psychedelia. Cheap too.
