Great accurate tuner

Clip it onto your headstock and you can tune the guitar in seconds.

Is very accurate, works perfectly with unplugged electrics.

Changing the settings for different tunings took me a couple of attempts - at first it's not clear that the settings have changed but with a couple of attempts it was fine.

Might be considered a bit expensive but still very much recommended.

Cool tuner

This one is another cool product from tc electronic. I already have the polytune tuner and the iphone app version. This one is great, becouse it work without any cables, just stick it to on top of the neck. It works with both acoustic and electric guitar. It also supports different tunings. Always keep a spare battery, it's consuming quite a bit!

Light, clearly visible and reliable

I am owner of 2 TC elctronic tuners (polytune 2 and polytune mini black) and I did not doubt which clip tuner to buy. Polytune clip is absolutely fantastic. Easy to use, easy ro switch on/off and, most important, clearly visible when playing outdoors in the sunlight! I owned few other clip tuners of various quality and price, but I donated them all to fellow guys who play guitar. Nothing can beat Polytune Clip!

A joy to use!

It's a real joy to tune your guitar or bass with this tuner. Works accurately and thanks to the polytune feature you can quickly see which strings need to be tuned.

Although it's only advertised to work with guitar, I found that when you put it on bass mode, you can also effectively tune other instruments, such as a cello.

Button placement and use is well-thought out and simple.

The only problems I've ever had with it were the polytune showing a string as not tuned while normal tuning showed it in-tune. Sometimes you will pluck a single string and it'll switch over to polytune. This doesn't happen very often though.

All in all, a very good product. Would definitely buy again.

Really the best clip tuner

This is my 3rd purchase for a guitar tuner, and really the first one that fits flawlessly to any guitar. The clip is sturdy, and won't slip off even from a very glossy finish. Using it is the simplest thing ever, I just put it on, push the button which is really well placed and responsive, and without delay the screen shows the matrix and I'm good to go with my tuning.

The case is well built, looks really solid, the screen is perfect in size, and the brightness, smoothness and responsiveness provided is the maximum you can get. Even with reduced vision it's absolutely apparent. For the tones, it is really precise, with different guitar body materials and necks it tunes with the same clarity and precision. Oh and the battery life? I guess I used it a million times already but it still lasts.

Summarizing the above, it's an easy to use, clear and understandable, solid product, when you go with this tuner you just can't go wrong, worth every penny.

Great tool

We use it on electric guitar on acoustic guitar and bass.

It works great, it captures all the notes from our 6 string bass.

It's small and subtle.

Yes it is POLY-tune, you can play all your strings and it will show you all the strings at the same time.

Even great for bass.

I play bass and took a chance on one of these and totally paid off.

These are great little pieces of tech.

Thought it might struggle with the low notes but thankfully it's passed that test with flying colours.

These allow you to tune all your strings from one strum.

Fantastic piece of gear.

Really great tuner!!

I'm using this tuner on daily basis, and it is very easy to use. I like the big display that shines in the dark, especially when you need to tune it on the stage. I have no cons, so this review makes this tuner perfect :). If you don't want or need pedal tuner, I would always recommend this clip on tuner, because I tried many other that are not as good as this one.

A great clip on tuner

This is compact, sturdy and accurate. The lowest tuning I play in is Drop B and this works like a dream even on the lowest of notes. I have used it on a 5 string bass and It still worked beautifully.

The lights make it easy to see in a dark environment, it's hud is easy to understand and even if I were to lose or if it were to break I'd pick it up again instantly.

One negative is that the multiple string tuning is kind of... off? It often feels like it will tell you to tune up when looking at all strings but down when looking at the individuals, but that's fine if you just use one or the other tuning methods.

Conclusion, if you want a nice small clip on tuner go for it. It's great for live and in the studio.

Great Tuner

Love the strobe feature, the fact it can be used either way up and the bright display for use on dark stages.

It also means I can tune discreetly, and then clip onto my strap when not in use.

Not the cheapest clip on tuner out there, but certainly worth the extra money.

Good tuner

Fast enough and precise tuner. The display is bright and sharp, polyphonic mode is impressive as well. The accuracy of tuning depends of placement in a less degree then usual. I wish only the on/off button could be a bit bigger.

Great tuner

I bought this Polytune Clip Tuner because I was dissatisfied with my old (cheap) clip tuner which was not too accurate and also quite slow. So I thought I'd give something more professional a try and must say that my expectations were surpassed. The accuracy is excellent and the tone recognition is very quick. I like the regular "needle" mode the most, it is very clear to read with green leds in the center and red ones on each side. The Polytune mode is nice for quickly checking thee intonation but the single note mode is more accurate. It switches automatically between the two modes, depending on how many strings you play - great.

The mechanical quality is also great, metal clamp, mounts to the front or the back and switches the display orientation automatically. And also works well on electric guitars. Overall a great device, only downside is the price which is a bit on the high side for a clip tuner but it's worth it.

Very happy with the PolyTune Clip

I prefer to give a final tune-up before going on stage and was looking for a clip-on tuner that was small and accurate (and that I could easily put in my pocket). As I already am very happy with a PolyTune mini pedal, I opted for the same brand.

Since I play bass and Chapman Stick, I don't use and can't comment on the polyphonic mode, but I find this tuner very fast and accurate, down to low B. Also it is very easy to read, even in complete darkness.

Quality tuner

Excellent tuner, makes tuning quick and easy, easy to use, and looks cool as hell.

Very fast and accurate

I really love this tuner, compared to the snark and planet waves clip on tuner i have owened so far. Tested 3 of them together and the poly tune clip just beat them with fast note recognition and the bright display.. Also the strobe mode on the tc is just super awesome. Only down side is that, since the market for 7 & 8 string guitars has come up high, i really would like to see Tc put out a tuner which can show upto 8 string of multiple string tunning mode tuner.which will help a lot of the new age musicians.. But for this tuner, you just cant beat Tc..

Cheers.

Fast and very accurate

I used to have a Snark tuner but decided to step up to TC Electronic quality and I don't regret it.

The PolyTune Clip Tuner is very fast and accurate and easy to use.

The PolyTune Clip features an adaptive readout that automatically flips to the proper orientation no matter where you decide to attach its padded, stainless-steel clip. Very convenient.

And that?s not enough, it also has a strobe tuner with +/- 0.02 cent accuracy, flat tunings and capo modes, along with MonoPoly technology that detects whether you play one or more strings and responds with the proper polyphonic or monophonic tuning mode.

The only down side as I see it is that I can't use it on stage when there is other people playing because of interfering and will then not show the otherwise accurate readout.

Apart from that it is great for intonation of all your string instruments.

Definitely recommend the TC Electronic PolyTune Clip Tuner it's a great product in true TC Electronic tradition.

Just awesome

The strobe mode is really accurate.

Overall the tuner is much more responsive than the average. Responds to the slightest vibration as opposed to more cheap units.

With this tuner you can clearly see how your strings go from high to low pitch as you pluck so you can also tune accordingly.

The software plugin is really a good gift also.

Slick look.

It works!

What can I say, great little tuner! Great price, much more convenient than plugging in my Gibson J45 and running it through a digital tuner. Tracks well and the polyphonic feature is quite handy for checking quickly whether you're in tune; would imagine this is a godsend live but not something I do. I had the iPhone app version of the tuner but this works better and looks cool!
