Nice sound, but headphone is a big no-no

I already had the Flyrig 5 v2, and have played many gigs with it with great results. Also my go-to practice tool at home is this into a small solid state combo set clean. I wanted to try this variety of the Flyrig. Set up using the same elements as before, I got some nice sounds. Not exactly better than the other model, just different. Nice sansamp circuit, nice distortion (wasn't a big fan of the fuzz sound but that's just me, nice boost but not a fan of the comp setting). Liked the delay and reverb, rotary again was not really something I could see/hear myself use... But now my main problem; I had bought this for silent practice, since the description says it has a switchable headphone amp. (my other unit does not have this) Tried this and almost blew my head off! Everything bypassed and loud as hell! I tried to compensate by engaging the sansamp circuit at very low volume, but that sounded nowhere near what I heard the unit do through my amp. Adding the drive circuit onto that sounded even worse. All in all, nice unit, great build quality like my other unit. But sadly the one purpose I wanted to use this for is really not doable. Better to return this and keep at it with my other model + amp. I can always (try to) turn that amp down a bit when practicing...

Really Kool!

The RK5v2 ticks so many boxes - it's going to replace my massive flight case pedal board with something that fits in a guitar case pocket. Just plug and play, it's difficult to get a bad sound out of it, even for a technophobe like me. It's really intuitive and has a really great range of effects/tones. I spent a long time looking for something like this and I'm really glad I settled on the flyrig. If you hate having a million options and drop down menus and insanely complex stuff you never use (or understand) - this is the multipedal for you. I can get a great basic tone easily, then add compression, boost, overdrive, reverb, delay or rotary or a combination of them with ease. It also looks really nice, is solidly built - even the cable on the power is made to last! Highly recommend it.

Professional gear

This piece of equipment is built like a tank and meant to be used on a regular basis. Great sounds! The magnificent OMG overdrive cleans up nicely when when you use the volume control on your guitar. The RK5 has a lovely delay and rotary sound, too bad you can't use those both in one song unless you bend down to push a button. Highly recommended!

Lite gig saver

This box included reverb delay Booster Compressor,Amp sim, Overdrive,Rotary,DI ,CAB sim, fuzz ,10functions in a box! What do you want??

Its a complete gig rig, for me, i don't need anything else just bring this pedal.

Delay has more control knob for twist and Rotary

Reveb can switch for big room or small room

The amp sim is good and very sensity

The OMG overdirive has the very classic rock sound like between JCM 800 and plexi

Booster and compress are also important for clean sound!

pros

1.10 Functions in a box!!And a good price!

2. America made!

3.signatrue sound of RK

Cons

1.The knobs are seems loose

2.The amp sim doesn't had the own pedal knob

This pedal is money saver better than many "Digital effect"

Totally awsome!

Brilliant Little Box

If you like Richie Kotzen’s sound then simply plug your guitar into this little gizmo and you will be very close with all the knobs set to 12. A bit of tweaking to adapt to your guitar and pickup types and you’ll be there.

Direct into a Focusrite / Logic it sounds very convincing and into my Brunetti Singleman with the Sansamp section disabled it’s phenomenal.

This unit reacts very well to your guitar volume control, backing it off by 1/4 rotation gives a great crunch tone and bring it back to full and you have a great lead tone ideal for soloing.

Each section does its job very effectively. The boost section gives a clean boost of up to 21dB, the OMG distortion section gives a really high quality tone, way better than my Andy Timmons @ pedal. There is also a fuzz option on the OMG, while fuzz is not to my personal taste, it sounds very much like a Hendrix type tone especially with single coils.

The Sansamp section is the tried and tested Tech 21 quality with some extra tweaks developed with Richie and as I said, the direct tones you can get are very convincing.

The delay section is very clever, there is a drift control on the repeats to add a chorus effect on the repeats only. This delay is not particularly stacked with features but for the price and application is all you need.

Considering Richie Kotzen uses 2 of these with a Wah pedal on stage ( and in the studio) you’re getting exactly what he uses, and it really does sound great .... I was blown away and smile a lot when using it.
