the box PA 110 A Reviews
Good!
It was a gift for a friend, pretty powerful, sound quality is also good when volume is not 100%.
Definitely something you can properly use for a non-professional environment. You can't be unsatisfied if you have the right expectations!
Plenty power & smooth sound.
For my solo gigs.
A little heavy, but the sound and looks are both good. Ive been down the big name speakers in bands and as a "sound guy", but this speaker, my guitar & looper seem to be a great trio, keeping me musically bussy right through the troubles. I always use the 80kh filter, great for voice & guitar. Im finding the newer digital speakers a bit harsh on sound. Yes I do have quite a sound arsenal, but recently settling for some older technology to wow my smaller audiences.
This 10 incher has a little extra in the mid range which bring out my picking on acoustic guitar and certain parts of my old voice which I'd forgotten about.
Reccomend this speakers power/sound for average bars or garden parties. Your not gonna blast them, but youll please them.
My big JBL's & Mackies can stay home now I got this new sound partner.
The Box PA110A a lot of sound for a good price.
The Box PA110A really does where it's meant to be for : good sound quality for a sharpe price.
the box PA 110 A Speaker
Excellent Speaker and great as a monitor speaker too.
amazing for the money. I use them as studio monitors and they are great. I have them like a 100 years.
Excellent range of uses
I've used this on small quiet jazz gigs for vocals. The mic input is great here, no need to bring along a mixing desk. If you want more mics or line instruments like keys you can route them through a mixing desk then into the speaker no problem, as it accepts both line and mic inputs.
I've also used it on larger gigs as a "wedge" monitor speaker. Stick it on a speaker stand, amp or even a chair, and it will work well as a sidefill too.
Surprisingly powerful and clear sound for its size. Recommended.
The size is hard to believe as so powerful!
Well what can I say these are defo something to start off as in both solo career whatever it may be dj singer comedian guest speaker etc etc. I use these for all events as are very flexible. They are bassy they are small they active which means no separate amp but built in. So very handy for renting and setting up! They are loud they crisp for vocals they produce a very nice sound.
A defo in budget price, are heavy than you would expect but if you ask me I like the weight, just tells you the power of the driver and amp within. They are stylish of a regular style but look great to be honest. Nice one handle at side for safe carrying.
Nice and easily functional with mic and line input with EQ and the likes very easy to use set up and are fun for the size when the sound is easily as impressive of a larger speaker top 12-15!
Seem reliable and sturdy, come with angles feet for monitor assembling of speaker for ground and stage purposes, handy extra which I like that it's included. As far as small active speakers go these are tops and for price it's a no brained!
Overall nothing bad to say they sound as good as EV and sound a powerful as 15inch cones. Some! Excellent housing and great to use for multipurpose gigs. 10/10! A must buy for beginners solo artists and for a backup pair.
Versatile little tool
This is a great little piece to carry around since it is so small it's worth having as a back up for various uses.
I've used this as a vocal monitor, instrument monitors (keys) and for a drum monitor. I've used it with my Roland TD8 electronic kit at home.
An important feature to remember is that the two XLR ports on the back are wired in parallel. Although one is labelled 'In' and one 'Out' you can use either. While I know it isn't ideal- I have found myself with the wrong jack-XLR adapter at times and still managed to send signal to this speaker.
I have used the speaker on 'mic' setting once or twice. A small switch turns on the pre-amp so you can put a mic in direct- However I've only used this for speeches as a last resort and wouldn't know how the pre-amp quality sounds for a singer. Be very careful not to leave this switch pushed in and then send a line-level signal!
I've never been disappointed with any of the Box PA range.
Powerpacked
The Box PA110 A active speakers are perfect for small venues. They supply plenty of clean crisp sound without any distortion and can be turned up very loud if required. The sound quality is reflected in the price but will suffice for most bands or individuals starting on a budget.
I bought the speakers in 2008 and they were hammered with 3 gigs a week. Never a problem and they were thrown around a fair bit. I sold them in good working order after 2 years, and even though they had a few dents and scratches they are very solidly built.
The only con with these speakers is the sound quality at volume but at this price what do you expect?
High Quality
Although the box PA110 may look small the quality is fantastic, i bought 2 of these for poolside music and entertainment which made them great for announcments whilst playing music at the same time, this is due to a feature that automatically turns the volume of the music down when you make announcments via Microphone alternitively you can turn this off if you wish to use the speakers more for entertainment shows
Great speakers
I am very happy with those speakers. This is the first time I spend money into speakers. I bought a pair of those, they sound great and are quite powerful too. I can use the speakers for DJing in my room or at house parties alike. I also use the speakers to watch movies and they sound great at low or high volume.
The overall build is good, the speakers seem to be of good quality, the box is robust.
for cheap speakers amazing !
bought 2 of these. they are solid and the plastic feels as good as rcf. i have given 5 stars taking into consideration the price.
the good
REALLY LOUD-AS LOUD AS ANYTHING THIS SMALL IVE HEARD.
BASS AND TREBLE REALLY GOOD FOR SMALL SPEAKERS-SOME DEEP SUB THERE AND WOULD PLEASE PEOPLE NOT USED TO BIG PA.
CONTROLS ALL GOOD.
THESE SOUND BETTER THAN MY RCF 310A AS THEY HAVE DEEP BASS WHICH IS MISSING ON THE ARTS..... EXCEPT -READ ON
THE BAD.
AS MENTIONED BY OTHERS,THE REMOVABLE PLASTIC FEET ARE WEAK.
THEY LOOK A BIT OLD SCHOOL.
THE ONLY WORRY IS THEY BOTH HUMM A BIT EVEN WITH VOLUME ON 0.
FOR THE PRICE THOUGH I CAN FORGIVE THIS I THINK !
IF YOU DONT MIND A LITTLE HUMM WHEN NOTHINGS PLAYING THERES NOTHING BETTER TILL YOU SPEND 3 TIMES THIS !
Value for money
Decent quality speakers, especially for the money. I used them in a bar out in the smoking area for djing and they done a sound job for crowds between 100 and 200 people.
The Box
Had it for just some months. I use it on stage on giggs as a monitor on the floor playing the trumpet/brass. Should have bought one with knobs on the front for that use. Well, my own fault there. The plastic small stands that makes the speaker lay horisontal are bit "cheap". They have rubber rings on them to keep them in place but I broke both after first use. They do stay in place without the rubber rings however but I guess you can duct tape them if one finds the need to. Speaker has ok sound. On the bit heavy side to take from gig to gig so for my use using it as a monitor on stage I could have gotten off easier with a smaller speaker and still had enough sound. I use a volume pedal with it because it is easier that way to control your playing. Has a trough output directly to the PA system which is great.
Very good sound
the box PA110 A has a very good sound. This is mainly because with good speakers it also has a wood housing.
I really like its sound (music and microphone voice).
I use it for 6 years now and the only thing that I would want to be improved at it, is to be more modular made inside and to have more protections implemented on electronic PCB. Let me explain:
- I had an event where the location gave me 380Volt instead of 220V. This loudspeaker burned some important internal components and the high speaker, but on Behringer loudspeaker which was also connected to the 380V it was burned only a fuse mounted on the PCB (not the one you can replace on exterior)
Surprisingly good!
I bought these speakers for my bands new rehearsal space. We primarily use it for vocals, acoustic guitar and playback of MP3 files. For the price we paid we are very satisfied. They sound good and are plenty loud. I'm sure these would work good for doing live shows as well however most of our gigs we don't have to bring a PA so I have'nt tried it yet. The only thing I can really complain about is the legs that come with the speaker to be able to put them like a floor monitor. They're plastic legs and nothing wrong with them except for the fact that there's like a "rubber band" which makes the leg stick to the speakers leg holes... these rubber band will break VERY easily.
apart from that I'm very satisfied!
Fairly priced
Fairly priced speakers that does exactly what you expect from them: Plays well at low volume, gives up to easily when louder. In other words, just like any other low-priced speaker. The build quality is good, easy to carry(low weight and size) and has an alright appearance. When using these for anything else than speech and low volumed music I recommend buying some subs as well.
Great speakers
Great sound quality, plenty of volume and excellent build quality. Fantastic value for money.
pretty good
sounds great but is quite heavy. I was disappointed in ordering from Ireland to find it shipped with continental european kettle leads. I think they should have come with English ones.
pa110a
i have used these at several functions, great sound from a small speaker, excellent value.
