the box Speaker 15-300/8-A 5-stars Reviews
You pay for what you get and much more
They sound great, look great, and are super good quality!
this is a very good speaker to replace a high 300rms driver, very impressive and happy wigh the quality.
Excellent Speaker
Playing reggae, Deep and low eventually destroyed my Trace Elliot's Celestion speaker. Decided to find a cheap replacement. This speakers built quality is fantastic, Huge magnet and weighs a ton!. Sound quality is excellent, I would recommend that you play a gig or play it at loud volume to break the speaker in as it sounded a bit brighter than my normal sound at first, gigged it to give it a workout, it sounded exactly like my Trace after 30 mins and I still have huge low end. Recommended 10/10
Great For use in Bass Cab
replaced a blown speaker in an Ashdown cab.
Very easy to install (first time I'd swapped speakers in a cab), so it made fitting much more stress free than anticipated.
Has a nice full range sound that is amazing for the price, making it a great companion for my Ampeg SVT AV-210.
Would recommend.
Strong and delicate !
Pro- Used in a 2-way enclosure with 3000 Hz cutting filter. The singer and the whole orchestra are with me in the living room, divine.
Cons- Subwoofer required if you listen to octobass.
Amazing value
I swapped it out for the 4 ohm one I had in the cab when I got an extra 410 cab. And needed some deep end to go with that.
These speakers are amazing, nice deep round tone, all you want next to a 10 inch cab.
I run this on an ashdown Evo III 300 watt. Never had any troubles with the 4 ohm and I gave that some umph now and then.
I love these speakers, gonna build a cab for the 4 as well soon. Use it mainly at home, rolled the 4 ohm one into rehearsal once. It lives in a Peavy black widow ported cab and it sounds just as good as the old speaker.
good speaker
Using this for a sound system build, looks to be good quality and shipped fast
Unbeatable General Purpose Bass Speaker
I bought a couple of these to replace some very old blown drivers in my 1x15 ported bass guitar cabs. Although the specification does not immediately suggest that they would be suitable in this role, they are surprisingly effective. They lack a little of the top end bite of the Celestions they replaced, but a tweak on the amp's graphic easily compensates.
Good points: well made, aluminium chassis, absolutely standard size and mounting hole locations. Good spl and very little distortion.
Bad points: nothing bad, just slightly lacking in a bit of bite higher up the range - 1khz upwards - hardly noticeable to be fair. Definitely recommended as a general purpose bass or bass guitar speaker.
Used it as a replacement for a blown speaker in a bass cab. SO far it's sounding excellent, deep and heavy bass whilst still giving good definition in the tops. Damn good for the price!
Very good replacements
High quality build, sound good but tends to cut out at low power, possibly a problem with my setup but other than that. Produces great bass!
A great replacement speaker for a fantastic price
I have a pair of the box PA 252 cabs (which I believe have two of these in them), so when I was given a pair of 1x15" cabs with no drivers these were the obvious choice to get them up and running. The installation went smoothly, I was pleased to find that they have sprung terminals... which I think in the long-run will be far more reliable than re-using the original crimp connectors from the cabs crossover.
Now using them for rehearsals with a 6 piece band and easily handling vocals, keys, kick & snare. They sound and handle so well... it's amazing to think that it's a sub £100 rig.
The only complaint I have about these is the packaging... although the box is very sturdy, the silica gel sachets have been stapled to the inside of the box and all of them ripped open in transit. So even though they've been separated from the speaker (which is sealed in a thick plastic bag), the silica balls went everywhere when the boxes where opened... kept finding them rolling about my kitchen for weeks.
Very Good
If you can make your own boxes, these are the speakers you want to use in those boxes or as replacements if you have blown one somehow.
The Box 15" speaker 15-300/8
Took a chance on buying a replacement speaker for a Warwick 1x15 cab, what the hell, I can always use it for something else if I don't like it. All I can say is "WOW"!
For only €59, it's hard to believe it's not the same as the Eminence Kappa 15 (€185 or so) that I have in a similar cab. Cast frame, 300w, good solid lows, crisp highs and full mids. €59.......what's not to like?
