Big sound

good price to quality ratio, we use at our small club sub (single TA18) and it works as expected. our other speakers are Db Technologies Hype 12, and this is good combination. Venue size is around 100 m2

sounds awesome, but really hard to move.

this thing sounds great, but it's really heavy. and really large (it takes up the entire trunk of a Jeep, it probably wont fit in a car). it's 45 kilos, but it feels like it weighs more because of the large shape of it. hard to carry. maybe (probably) a 15" or 12" Sub is enough for you...

i'm keeping it cause it sounds great, and when used with the box TA 12s, it makes them sound soooo much better than just using them alone. I purchased a cart to move them all. really heavy gear.

Great powerful system

This system has served me very well for several years now! Robust and powerful for its size. I use the subs with the tops as part of the package.

Best price/quality balance

We tested subs both indoor and outdoor events.

Amazing sound and attack even at low gain indoor at our small 100 square meters amphitheater inside the studio.

No distortion at max levels in the big venue places and outdoor.

Sounds perfect for live bands and DJing as well.

I suggest not to throw away protective foam from the package. It works as a good damper so you don't need to buy it separately.

Please keep in mind heavyweight. You will need 2 strong guys to carry this subs

Great sound, power and quality

Only one negative thing I can say - it is heavy but it has to bee due to its built. It is an amazing and powerful speaker! Never let me down and handled well all parties up to 250 people in big rooms used as one sub and 2 satellites with The Box DSP 115.

Cheap big bass box

Don't buy this for home use if you have neighbors :D I did, couldn't turn it up more than 5% otherwise the whole house was resonating. Obviously, this is not a small speaker.

Recently I was finally able to push it to it's limits at a party, however after 7 hours of active use on nearly max (it was not limiting), it suddenly started to emit a weird noise, even when the voice cable was unplugged.

Turns out, there is a sponge like glue thingy fixing one of the components on the circuit board to prevent moving from the bass. This material melted, and made a short circuit.

Replacing that with a silicon based glue fixed the problem. I think this is a design flaw, because the material used initially on the circuit board can become conductive over time, probably due to the heat.

Powerful

I'm very pleased with this product. Well made and sound is incredible. Lots of power there.

Only downside is the weight. It's too heavy for one man to carry. So probably not suitable for one-man bands who transport their own equiptment.

Great sub !

After one party with this sub...great sound.I use one of this sub with two Electro-Voice ZX5 and the bass was very deep,very strong,near to big folded horn subwoofer!The crossover is very precise,amazing!Аt high levels,bass ramain very deep,not overloaded,Earthquake bass!Recomended at this price!

Ganetin heavy, inconvenient to carry.

you can buy as an economical version

I bought this for a small scale theatre tour which i wanted a lot of sub frequency sound going on in the show. We were using one for an audience size of about 100 maximum. Worked really well and gave me the weight of bass i wanted. Did manage to max it out in parts of the show but I was doing some pretty loud sub effects. Used in a more realistic setting, It could easily manage a bigger room.

The sound is good. It's not perfect. It isn't very level in it's frequency response (in the range it can manage), but this was probably more noticeable to me at the level i was using it and it was easily tuneable through software.

It is heavy! and i don't necessarily mean that in negative way. It makes it really sturdy which helps with the sound quality. But considering I bought this to tour, I do feel a little sorry for the people who have to move it in and out of a van every few days (although that's not me, so I don't feel that sorry).

We have a rock band, and we needed some sub for the vocal, this product is perfect, sounds great and loud, we tested it whit some sub teszt program and it did it very well, Recommend ta18 to everybody...

Very basic sub

Frequency range is only from 45 Hz. From 35 to 45 Hz response with -20 - -10 dB. In other words, these often inaudible.

Far the biggest shame of producers is silly design. Blowing wind effervescent, not only through the outer grille, but also through the XLR sockets at the end!!! They need to be closed with the stopper! :D

The gauges are large, the weight is large, but the sound is poor..

Sorry, but I can not recommend it.

Blowin Away By the TA18s

Wow... Really blowin away by these bins, I have been DJin for 20 years and have owned 4 different setups, I need something that was easier to transport than my bigger Zeck system. I bought thebox bundle which includes the TA12 and TA18 bins. The sound is incredible for this price point. Lovely thump from the bins and great sound control. I like this setup as the amps are built in. This keeps everything looking really tidy - cables wise. Ideal for functions of up to 500 people. Really recommend these 10/10

Love at first Bass

I tested this two subs few days ago it did a super great job in a combination with satellite speakers(2x Ev-Zlx15p) People were dancing all night long, no sub-bass error or failure so ever . It was a bit hot at amplifier area, but no danger in overheating.

To protect yourself I advise you to run it via speaker management system, for total cross-over and limitation control against potential misunderstanding of mixer's master output signal that could damage your entire system.

Otherwise Frequency cutoff works very well this sub is playing very very loud and comes with a built-in limiter.

As a good Sub its heavy and it should be!

Its well built ... but don't hesitate in buying 4 wheels for transport your back will be very thankful, this sub will expand your bass-based-music delivery for all thirsty dancers out there. Totally recommend!

Bought these in package with the box TA12, And I'm surprised with the sound. I wasn't expecting that good, for that price.

It can be a bit unclear in the sound at times, but for the price it's really good.

And can get Loud!

As mentioned by most others this sub is unbeatable for the price. Did my first job with it yesterday ( one TA18 and two EV ZLX-15Ps ) and it added what I was missing in the tops perfectly at a party with 60 people ( in a room designed for 80 sitting guests ). Think this setup will do for parties with 100-120 guests before adding another sub for my use which is weddings and other parties.

The weight. Yes it is a little heavy, but easier to move around that I expected after reading other reviews. I can easily get a good grip and carry it, but maybe not that easy for shorter people than me.

Great Sub, needs wheels

Having used this sub for some time now, it has proved to be an excellent product at a great price, the bass is deep and loud, as a band-pass box it is full of low end richness, any budding sound engineer will know how to get the very best use from this in a system, I am ordering several more for live and other gigging, do get the cover for it!

Great Sub

Use 2 of these subs with the T.Box PA502a's...the system as a whole is full and detailed... These subs are great! The stand up next to other big brand manufacturers...The crossover with selectable frequency makes it easy to tailor the PA sound for different setups and musical styles. Great!
