Just got this one too...sounds really good..

Looks and sounds professional. I don't think you need expensive mic to make a hit records..only great song. I recorded same vocal side by side with t.bone EM 700. Quality is practically the same...you can hear slightly difference, but in mix no one will ever notice. What I really don't like, that you have unclip everything to put it in box. Come on make box that you can place is safely with everything setup..just to grab it from the box. And I got it without brass part, so it would be problem if I didn't have that part from other Tbone mic. I would recommend to buy it

Amazing Sound

Comparing to a Ribbon that costs 10 times more, it handles very well.

Very warm basses, and full body of all spectrum.

Cannot believe that I got all of this for this price !

I am buying another one.

WOW-- My mandolin sounds so good!! :-)

Great for the money

I really wanted a 121, but couldn't justify the price. This gets you 80% of the way to that sound for 5% of the price. Works great in conjunction with a 57 for double micing guitar amplifiers.

Very good quality at this price point

Looked for a first ribbon mic and bought this one. Unbeatable at this price point. Does whatever a ribbon mic has to do and what you expect from it. Lovely dark sound. Decent build. Easy handling. Very good on male voice and amplifiers. Not a Royer 121 but just the perfect ribbon mic for your home studio. Recommended!

Great for the money!

Used to record some jazz guitar, but in a more acoustic way also. Great capture of the sound, well built, the wooden case that is included is really fancy for the price! Really satisfied with the product!

Amazing for the price.

I use this as a room mic for recording drums and sometimes just as a single mic for the entire drum set. It sounds warm and nicely compressed which I really like. I wouldn't use it for recording where I need crystal clear signal, but then anyway ribbon mic won't be the right choice. It's not a Royer or Coles, but for this price, you get a very decent ribbon mic. It comes with a shock mount and a nice wooden box which is cool.

Amazing value for a ribbon mic.

I bought this mic on a "what have I got to lose" basis, but was pleasantly surprised, so much so, I've just ordered a second one. For recording vintage style music (my band play pre-war blues and ragtime) this mic works very well indeed. It has no real top-end response but sounds rich and full, on guitar, vocals, double bass and on guitar amps for steel guitar. A very authentic sound indeed, and a tad cheaper than an RCA44.

For the price you cant beat it

Brought to use as a mono overhead for drums amongst other things. Sounds natural and the cymbals sound amazing and smooth through it.

Bang for the buck

I bought this mic primarely for guitar cabs. It holds high volume well and sounds nice and warm, as ribbon mic should. I recorded old marshall superleads, and you know how ungodly lound those thigs are, but it held well. I used it for overhead mix, for drum room mix, even on kick drum. It worked awsome on everything. It's a bit on a bass side, so it's great for low insturments. I recorded bass amp with it also. I didn't really like it on vocals though.

It comes in a nice box and velvet kinda bag. It's built to last, nice metal housing, and good enought connectors. Not the best, but good. Especially for the price. The whole mic is unbeateble for the money, really. It's useful on wide variety of instruments, it responds to eq well and nicely sits in a mix. I love it on guitar cabs paired with a nice 57. I use it for contrast to wide diafragm condensor, one guitar with ribbon, one with condensor.

It needs a good preamp though. It uses quite a lot of gain, it has weak signal, as most of ribbons do.

But as said, for the price, can't get any better.

Better than expected

I use it mainly on guitar cabs. I love it on distorted small combo amps (8 & 10 inch speakers).

Really great midrange! Mix this with a SM57 or E906 and you have a truly killer sound.

66€...Amazing!

Hi!

I am a FOH engineer, bought this mic because I wanted a ribbon mic for a guitar amp, but didn`t want to spend fortune. It turned out, I didnt`t have to. This mic is amazing. I understand that a "real" Royer would be much better, but for 66€ that I spent, it does a great job.

I use the mic on a guitar amp, it dilivers a smooth warm sound I was looking for. Used on a fender 5e3 tweed and Orange tiny terror, the crisp mids we wanted to cut out became soft and warm, lots of low end and smooth highs.

Definitely buying another one, to have a set for two guitar amps.

I also tried it on bass amp, great natural overdrive, but you have to be carefull, not to put it to close to the speaker...about 10cm from the grillcloth was ok.

Again, in my oppinion, great mic, especially for the price.

Great value for money

Got this to try out ribbon mics and used it for recording acoustic and nylon strung guitars in jazz trio. Results were absolutely amazing giving a well balanced and natural sound. Can't go wrong for this money.

Great on percussions. Used it also as a drums overhead with very good results, punchy vintage sound.

Great mic!

Great mic, I'm using it for guitar amps on stage, great sound on clean and distorted sounds. Much less harsh than SM57, nice warm low and middle, easy to EQ.

Mic is very solid and in it's price it's good choice. I'm going to buy another one in future.

I don't know how it works in studio application because I've never used it that way.

For this price this microphone is very nice

I'm using this microhone mostly guitar cabs, equally as live and studio. With sharper guitar sound this mic really helpful and grateful. For this price this wooden box and suspension is best buy.

Good for the money

Not as sweet as an expensive riboon but at the price you can't complain. I wish it had more bass.
