the t.bone TB 312 S Reviews
No latch on the connector!
There's no cutout on the XLR connector, meaning the mic doesn't lock in place connected to anything.
If you put it in a desktop mic base (such as a K&M 29375), and then try to move the mic around on the desk by picking it up by the mic connector, the mic comes out of the base in your hand. No good for live work for this reason. The sound quality is good for the price, and sensitivity is acceptable for studio talkback use. Shame about the lack of latch!
Very sensitive
Very sensitive to parasitic fibrillations. If someone walks near the table where this microphone is installed, the footsteps sound like Godzilla walked through it. Used with t.bone table stand.
Great for the price but with one design flaw
This mic is great for its price and does its job well. Been using it for more than a year and it feels like it's going to last for a long time.
However, there's one very annoying design feat: it has a badly designed on/off switch.
First off, the need for an on/off switch on a talkback mic is debatable. But this switch is placed exactly where you grab the mic when you plug it in, which makes it really easy to switch it off accidentally. Once you've done that a number of times and lost a few seconds wondering why the guys on the other end can't hear you, trust me it becomes quite annoying.
Also, the switch is on the "wrong" side which makes it invisible so even if you're conscious that you need to double check, you can't even do that by simply looking at it. And even if you could, when the switch is on it doesn't even say it's on... you only know when it's off because the slider reveals a small, black over black "off" printing.
That doesn't make it a bad product, but it's something to consider if you care about the ergonomics in your studio.
For talkback just perfect.
I have two of these in two different talkback systems. Seem long lasting and do the job as expected. For recording should use other mics.
Buen producto.
Funciona para lo que debería funcionar y tiene un buen precio. Obviamente no es para hacer una grabación, solo es para comunicarse, la calidad de grabación es mala. Pero no esperaba más.
Verry good talkback mic
Price/quality this is the best choice
fit for desktop setting
if you happened to have a focusrite sound card and looking for a mic for daily usage, this is what you should get. Build quality is solid and looks durable. and you do not need one of those DI boxes!
Hmm...
Not very happy with this mic, it picks up some current and it?s buzzing, it might be a bad isolation
perfect for talkback
i purchased this mic for talk-back use on mixing console and is wonderful! The audio is clear, the switch is functional and the rugged construction make this mic a good choice for studio or live.
Simple & useful
+ Does what it's supposed to do. Used as a Talkback Mic on my SQ mixer. The Gooseneck holds well enough.
- Not really a con, but the switch on the connector is of no use for me. Can throw you off if you never use it, and it gets pushed in the Off position :-)
Great little mic
This is a good little mic, that does not require any Phantom power as a lot of them do.
Perfect talking back mic for your mixer
We use this on our x32 for a talkback mic. With the connector on top of the board this gives enough length to not have to lean too far for talking to the band. Being dynamic means little background noise is picked up so even the noisiest of gigs doesn't stop it being useful.
The switch on the base is useful but which side is 'on' isn't particularly clear so often think it's on when it isn't!
Would also work well as an announcement mic, but I wouldn't use it for anything beyond this as it is extremely cheap and sounds good based on the price tag!
Good microphone for talkback for less money.
I've bought this mic in order to have a talkback with the band for InEar Monitors. Also I tested it with full speaker to see how it sounds. It works also for speach very well.
The only thing I observed is that it doesn't stay fit in the XLR plug on the mixer but overall I am very satisfied.
Great price, great value.
We use this as a talk back mic, can hear our sound-man crisp and clear, had no problems whatsoever so far, can highly recommend it.
Great mic
A good lectern or table top mic and very useful when teamed with the t.bone Table Stand fantastic value for money, so good we've bought more to use in round table discussions/recordings in our podcasts
Good workhorse
Using this mic for talkback in my recording studio. The intelligibility of the audio from this mic is good, the gooseneck is flexible and always stays where you put it.
The build quality seems good - it's actually pretty heavy! It also has a low profile and looks at home in a pro environment.
The main problem with the mic is that the handling noise is very very high, if you are planning on setting it up and leaving it - great! If you want to move or direct the mic whilst operating it, look for something else. The on/off switch could also be better, even when tightened in the on position, it's still possible for someone to turn it off with enough force.
Good priced talkback mic for X32
We use this microphone as a talkback mic to communicate with our musicians and stage folk, and have it plugged directly into the X32 console. The connection is a little flimsy, though I'm not certain if its the X32 to blame or this microphone. It wobbles a bit in the connection socket, which I can see causing issues down the line, especially if technicians are in the habit of grabbing the mic to talk.
There is an on/off switch at the base, which is useful I suppose, although our desk has a PTT (push-to-talk) button, which renders this switch obsolete, and I can see it causing confusion if a technician switches it off. To remedy this, I've taped up the switch, locking it in the 'on' position.
Sound quality is fine, no complaints. Musicians and singers can hear technicians clearly, which is all that matters.
GOOSENECK MIC
This mic sounds great and seems well built and sturdy. It came well packed in a tube with full specs and instructions. I use this as a talkback mic so I can speak to the band in their in ear monitors while on stage. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.
Second one
Had to get this to replace the old one that failed through the slider switch, maybe too many persons playing with it! prefer a straight on-off than a volume control as it is attached to the desk anyway.
ok mcs
Bought a few of these by accident, meant to buy the condenser version. They are ok, but compared to the gc300 for a few euro extra they have much higher clarity. Ok for talkback.
