Not quite the sound I had expected, but not terrible

Maybe in some situations this would sound better, but it's not quite the China sound that I expected. The sound is harsher and more ringing than I expected. However, it's kind of interesting to use the inside near the bell as a ride cymbal.

China Bell :)

This little china is pretty thick so it sounds more like a bell :)

properly harsh

i use this cymbal in a ritual percussion set up, not as part of a drum kit. when struck hard, it has a harsh, slightly gong-like ring to it, though not too hissy. i've used it several time together with a lager china as a set of hand-held cymbal, which made its typical sharp sound come out quite distinctly. plus after a good deal of grinding, beating and dropping, it still looks unscathed. would definitely buy one again if mine decided to repatriate.

Excellent.

This mini china cymbal is a great addition to my kit. It is an authentic china in the fact that it is a Wuhan and handmade. Some "western" China's don't have that certain something. So with this, it feels to me that I could have quite easily bought this myself in China as an authentic item. There is some sustain on this cymbal despite its size. Other 10" China's have been very short in the voice. The thing is with Wuhan cymbals is that no two cymbals are going to be the same, even though they may be the same size and model. This one I have bought is quite thick, but, if I bought another one it could well be thinner and will sound totally different. In all, I am very pleased with this indeed

Clangy...

The sound is too clangy for my tastes. It may have some applications in more extreme genres like metalcore, grindcore etc, but I don't see it fitting into softer playing.
