Thomann Chromatic 40 Harp 4-stars Reviews
Great for the price
I was looking for a chromatic harp mainly to 'try it out' as I usually play blues harmonicas. I didn't want to pay too much either. This turns out out be a great piece of kit for the price. It is not the best but the scores I have given it relate to the low cost - it works well, the sound is good and so is the response. A really nice instrument for someone starting out with chromatic harps!
perfect choice for beginners
This harmonica was supposed as a learning instrument for a beginner, but it surprissed me by high level of quality.
The tone is clear and bright, but it could be louder. Bending is not easy with this harmonica, but it is not big deal in case of this type (it contains mechanical registry)
You will get looooooot of music for quite small money
A good harp for starting learning
I bought two of these, one for myself and one for my friend as a gift. The price is very reasonable and based on my search it is a good instrument to start learning harp.
This is my first harp so I cannot compare it to other models. However, I can say that I am really happy with my purchase. The sound is really nice and the instrument is really comfortable to hold and play.
Harp
I ordered this harp to be able to record in some of my songs. I was surprised when I got it in my hand and tried it for the first time. The quality of the harp was high considering the price I played for it. Now there are several songs on Spotify where you can hear it.
Good Entry-level Chromatic
A decent quality harmonica, based off of popular designs, not trying to reinvent the wheel. Fairly airtight and there's no air leakage between the two positions. The button does occasionally feel a bit sluggish, but it's nothing that impedes playing. Also, could maybe be a bit more responsive in the high registers.
Has quite a reliable feel to it. It certainly does not feel as if anything will break anytime soon. Also has a good weight to it and sits relatively well in the hands. Maybe not as comfortable as something a bit more rounded; has some sharp edges. Again, nothing to really impede playing.
Overall, great harmonica given the price, and certainly amazing for a beginner.
Good starter harp (just clean / lubricate it from time to time)
I have been using this for over 4 years now and it still runs without an issue, though you need to lubricate the moving chrome plate from time to time. It sounds to be in perfect tune, is sturdy and loud enough. If I had to point out one thing that I could change, probably the plastic body would be it, the sound of this harp can be overtly raw to some better trained harp ears. But then again, we are talking about 20 euros here, excellent value I must say.
Great harmonica
I have bought a few of these harmonicas for club members, and I have nothing but Good feedback. A cheap harmonica is Never a waste, and always makes a great practice instrument. Love this harmonica, it is a fantastic step up to chromatic for diatonic players. Highly recommended.
